i have a lexus sc 400 these speakers with components and all fit flawlessly and offer a sound that is truly extraordinary, i was advised to buy this brand with guaranteed satisfaction, and i openly admit that is what i have. Complete satisfaction and super pounding power, highly recommended, state of the art is JL Audio, and i got a 8 inch sub instead of 10 i was very worried it would not provide the bass i wanted wow it vibrates the mirrors and seats and thumps!! more than expected and surpassed 2 friends 10 and 12s they had

I put a single 8W3 in a fiberglass enclosure in the back of my SUV on 240 watts. It really gets down! Best in a sealed enclosure.

If your looking for tasteful sound in a confined space then this is the sub for you. They really do well in small enclosures. You can find specs on JL's website that make them come to life. You also won't find them any cheaper than Sonic.

I am very pleased with these subs. I have 2 of these in my 03' f150 supercrew and these fit under my backseat perfectly without any real modifications. my amp is a Alpine MRP-f300
SOUND: these subs really do sound great. They have what i would call "grown man bass." Your probably not going to shake your neigbors cars mirrors but they provide a very solid thump without being flooded or sloppy. I have always had 2 12's in all my previous cars and while these don't hit as hard as those did on the very deep lows they still hit amd I would say it is rather close and these sound better.
SIDE NOTE: As always it depends on what amp and whatnot you have running your speakers but with these i can set loose change on my console and watch it move with the bass where i have never really been able to do that before even with my 12's
CONCLUSION: if you are a teen and just what the most flooded. ratteling bass you can find these might not be for you. but if you want a very clean sound that will still shake your seat and fit conveniently in a tight space i would highly reccomend. .
*Only giving 4 stars for look/design and durability as i never see speakers and have only had them for 6 months so can't fully speak to durability.

2008 Wrangler Unlimited. Made spacer so that the 8w3v fits in OEM enclosure. Being fed by Cadence XAH250.2 mono. If you are reading the reviews, you know the praise for this little thing. No BS, this little thing is awesome for an 8. In previous vehicles, I've had a single 10 and a single 12. Both Polk db's. The JL is as loud as the 10 and musically it sounds better than both the 10 and 12. Both db's sounded "messy". This one is very precise. Definitely worth they extra money and for this particular application, it is perfect.

Have 2 of these underneath the backseat in a F-150 2010 extended cab. Great sub hits the notes very LOUD!!! Great sub for having no space to put them. Have it setup w/ JL audio to get rid of factory speakers and you can hear every note high and low. Worth the buy. May be worried about not getting the bass you want. DON'T worry about that at all. Get a great box too and they work superb.

Skeptical is the first word that comes to mind when I think of my purchase of this speaker. I have only had JL in any car I've ever owned, but never an 8. I knew the quality, but had never heard one before. Well, now I have and oh my, is it amazing! I built a custom box and hooked it up to a RF 330-1 amp(also awesome) and am now in audio bliss. These little speakers hit every note thrown at them and they do it precisely and effectively. They need very little power to work so thats a big plus to the cost conscious buyer. I have one 8 in a 2010 toyota venza and couldnt be happier. Good work as always jl!

These really do not sound like 8's. They slap hard and people are always amazed when they hear them. I have 2 8 W3 in a sealed box in a nissan frontier crew cab and they hit so hard. I had someone come into my car not knowing i had subs and asked them what they sounded like and he said he thought it was a 12 in a large box. No one believes they are only 8's until they see them. I definitely recommend this to anyone limited in space and wanting the most boom for their buck

Purchased (2) of the subwoofers from Sonic Electronix via Ebay about six months ago. Since installing them they have been one of my best car audio purchases that I can remember. I've gone through 4 different systems, ranging from 15, 12, 10 inches. If your looking for a compact woofer that is backed by one of the best audio companies out there this sub is for you. In a small ~ 1 cu ft sealed box these subs hit just as hard as a comparable 10" woofer, given proper power.

I have done business with Sonic Electronix for almost four years, and I will continue to use them in the future.

I bought this speaker about 6 months ago. My intention was just to upgrade the speaker in my factory installed sub-woofer box. Needless to say, this was the best upgrade I have EVER invested in! The sound is stunning, the lows hit amazingly hard and the mid punchy bass is the perfect complement. On top of that, the box I have isnt even ported and I'm only running a 250 watt mono amp! I'm perfectly content with the sound and I haven't even pushed the limits yet. I highy recommend this Sub.

I had a 10w3v3 in my vehicle, but just wanted to try an 8w3 just to see how it sounded. I was very pleasantly surprised - the sound quality and clarity of bass guitar notes was much better with the 8" than the 10". I had to turn the gain up a couple clicks to get the same volume as the 10", but that was no problem.

Great product. Would not believe the sound from this sub. I have it in 2010 Equinox in factory sub box just retro fitted it. With a punch A250 on it sounds like two tens at any level of sound.

Usability
Wow. That's the first word that came to mind after i installed this little wonder. JL already has an outstanding reputation for sound quality and power especially when it comes to their subs. This 8" w3 series is no exception. I was considering a smaller sub because of the cramped space i have in my jeep wrangler. I researched which sub i wanted for my jeep for a few months before buying this one, so i know what this thing is capable of and the quality sound it can produce. I needed a sub that produced maximum sound with minimum space requirements; this sub definitely meets and surpasses this criteria. After installing this sub in a sealed box that meets the performance requirements, it took up hardly any space and sounds phenomenal(when matched up with the proper amplifier). The 8w3 comes second only to the 8w7(which is pricey) and it sounds like two 10's, if not better.

I have two of these in a custom down firing box under the rear seat in an 07 Avalanche. The box fits under one side of the seat and extends to the center powered by Alpine pdx 1.600 amp. Bass is very clean and strong, hits every note and kicks the back of the front seat. Sounds great but leaves out most of bass under 30HZ. Sounds better played moderate to loud. Great for SQ set ups. Recommend three for lower bass or ported box. Genre=Cont Jazz, R+B, Rap. Neo, soul blues.

I replaced the stock amplifiers and subwoofers in the doors of my 2005 Ford Mustang, and let me tell you...Make sure you get sound dampening material for these subs!

These subs hit hard, but yet sustain the lowest of notes. I mostly wanted to get sound quality, and I knew JL Audio had a reputation for sound quality---and they sure live up to it!

Overall, this was a tremendous purchase, especially for the price! I highly recommend the JL Audio 8w3v3-4.

this is pretty cheap for a sub of this quality...it doesn't sound like an 8. its a beast. really, it sounds like a 12 at least, buy this for small spaces...i didn't want a box in my Tahoe, so i have this in a raggedy stock plastic box, dynamat...in a Tahoe. and it slams. ridiculous. i love it. clean hard and loud. this kills my mirrors.

I got this sub for a 2002 tahoe because it has a stock 8" sub already and i didn't want a box in the back...lets just say you will be shocked that this is only 8". its sounds like a 12. i put it in the factory box after Dynomatting it a little, great for accurate bass, and its very loud if you want that. awesome sound if you don't have much space.
