This sub thumps huge bass for it's small size. It fits perfectly in the rear hatch floor of my Porsche 944. I power it with a 1200 watt Infinity amp with the low pass filter on. Thumps Hard for it's size, and you can feel it and see the rear view mirror shake. . Give it a try, you will not be dissappointed.

May 17, 2012 Perfect small sub...

Replaced a factory sub with this one because I wanted better bass response, and this thing delivers. It's not a 12" or 15" with a ton of cubic space, but it's solid and perfect for listening to music. For its size and compact box, this sub is amazing. I listen to rap, hip-hop, rock, metal and even country; all sound great with this sub. If you are a basshead, this isn't for you, but if you like to hear and even feel that kick drum or bass guitar, then this is for you. Bottom line is you will not be disappointed.

April 18, 2012 Damn good sub for the size and price

This thing is a beast for the size and price. Most people that hear it in the car think its a 10" or a 12". From outside the vehicle its nearly silent which how I like it. It's just not quite enough air movement for a bass head like me so I'll be moving up to a 10w7 in a HO box with this thing pulling duty in the GTI.

Great if you want a bit of extra boom.
Not great if you want the whole block to hear you coming.

April 18, 2010 Perfect Fit for my 2001 Honda CRV

This sub booms big bass for it's small size. It fits perfectly below the rear floor of my Honda CRV with the rear cargo tray removed. I power it with a 150 watt pioneer amp with the low pass filter on. Thumps Hard for it's size, and you can feel it and see the rear view mirror shake. Sufficient for me, and a completely stealth install. Bass does not thump outside the vehicle... but inside it does. Give it a try, you will be impressed.

I have always had 2 12s or 2 10s in the past. This was a stretch for me to downsize to an 8. I have an 07 Toyota Tundra DC and this sub fits under the back seat so I can still use the back seats for passengers.
Let's talk about the sound. I was blown away by how much output this small sub puts out. I listen mostly to hip hop, some rap and rock, and these things are up to the challenge. Don't expect to feel the bass pounding away, but you can sure hear a lot, esp. for an 8!
What I like about these too is the sound quality--tight hitting bass without too much that it drowns out the mids and highs. The 8W3 is a wonderful woofer that can handle some power. I am giving them around 250 watts RMS off of a Kicker amp and they sound great!
Don't expect heart pounding bass from a single 8, but you do get some great bass, save some space, and a great quality product from JL Audio. I could fit another under the other rear seat, so I may just have to get another in the future!

I was blown away by the performance of this sub. I ended up buying two thinking that would be best but I might have over done it...can you really do that though? This sub, paired with the JL 250 1 v2 sounds absolutely incredible in my 2010 Toyota Tundra.

I would highly recommend this sub. I have a Kicker L2 in my car and these two sound just as good. Very nice!
