I bought this product 6 months ago it worked for one week then completely fried and stopped working

Used it in my 2012 Civic.

NO I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS TO ANYBODY! Any time I've passed a cop it hasn't gone off. I don't know if it's because they're not pointing the radar gun at me or because the thing doesn't work.
And, what's even worse is the false alarms i get! When I'm accelerating hard, the Lidar detector will go off. Every time i push the gas pedal hard it goes off. I don't understand why. But it scares the crap out of me. In the manual it says "Lidar" is a laser from a cops radar gun. The manual also says that if "L" lights up (for Lidar) it is "NEVER" a false warning, which obviously is bull crap. The only thing that does work on it is the detector that notices automatic opening doors for stores, or speed traps that track your speed only (like driving thru a school zone, it says your speed, also known as K/a). Oh and the mounting brackets sucked too. The suctions cups did NOT work at all and it came all bent. So mounted on my dash with the velcro tape it came with, still sucks.

Even if it were $5 I wouldn't buy another. The best one's to buy don't plug into a cigarette lighter and cost over $200. I'm gonna get one of those because you get what you pay for. If it saves you from one speeding ticket, it pays for itself.
