Recently I got a Schoche BTAXS which is technically a great solution for those of us who don't have a Bluetooth receiver in our car stereos. Basically you just plug the unit into the AUX-in of your car, turn the car system to AUX and then once the BTAXS is connected (by pressing the multifunction button once) music and phone calls will be played through your car stereo.
Initially, the small unit (which also doubles as a mike) needs to be charged for 2 or 3 hours but after that, charging from time to time seems effective and if you're really lucky and have a power outlet in your vehicle which doesn't make noise in your speakers when something is connected to it, then you can leave it on charge all the time. Overall the BTAXS works as advertised and extremely well. I have no complaints about sound quality or connection issues etc. The problem with this product is with the logic. The BTAXS doesn't seem to understand that you have turned your vehicle off or on. Previously I had a Kensignton LiquidAUX . When you started your vehicle, it connected with your phone and when you turned your vehicle off, it disconnected. Nothing else was required. The BTAXS has to be manually connected each time you start your vehicle except in cases where you are 30 feet or so away (like in a garage next to your house) in which case it merrily keeps you connected to your phone until you are far away (and have forgotten) at which time it goes in standby mode (disconnects bluetoooth). Then when you come back to the vehicle, you think you are connected but your not. If you leave your vehicle close by, the BTAXS will be still connected to the car so if you get a call you first have to turn off Bluetooth before you can answer the call on your phone. I don't believe anyone actually tested the thing for more than a few hours in which case it works extremely well, when it is charged and after connecting. But it's a high maintenance gadget, a first generation product so I would advise you to wait for the second generation.

I purchased this unit to have Bluetooth streaming and phone capability in an older vehicle with an Aux input in the console. The unit is simple enough plug and go. The microphone is pretty good and the one button interface is simple. Negatives for the unit include not really knowing if its off when you leave the car because the LED changes colors when trying to turn off the unit. I would definitely recommend.

It works like Magic. I have a Lexus RX300 that does not have Bluetooth, I wanted something that can connect to my Cell phone Bluetooth so that I can play songs and when the phone call comes I can take that call using my CAR speaker system. It works exactly what I wanted. This tiny thing is just magical. It connects right away with my cell phone Bluetooth. I don't use other features that it has but for me it works great. The only minor issue I had with this that it has plastic body. last time I took my car for car-wash and they broke my BTAXS Bluetooth but fortunately it still works. If I have to buy again I will buy this again and would recommend anyone who has old car or new car without Bluetooth hands free. This is the best product with extremely low price. ( i am not giving 5 star for Durability because i feel they can do better job by not making it completely plasticy). But again I recommended all my friends and some of them also bought it and are using it.

I purchased the Scosche for my previous car, which did not have an auxillary/mp3 connection. I ran it thru a cassette adapter, and it worked great. The big difference in having the BTAXS and not, is the quality of your voice on the other end. The bluetooth was nice also.

Unit is bigger than expected. Phone audio volume was good but had an ocean noise during phone calls in background. Streaming music via iphone 4 was really clear but signal/sound degradation almost 2/3 to half of AUX cord. overall just okay of a product.

If your thinking of changing out that OEM radio in your ride, save your time, money, and energy. This product will breathe new life into your old stock radio. All you need is a aux jack to make your radio a handsfree bluetooth iphone loving animal.

The unit sounds good to others when on calls. It sounds ok when streaming music though bass is a little flat. Unfortunately the battery does not last long 5 hrs is not enough. I'm always recharging and you can not use the unit while charging. The end of the cable that charges just fell apart and is broke. I purchased a solar power unit that self charges instead.

Poor audio when streaming - not steady - skips. A hassle to keep charged and operate. I stopped using after a week of disappointment. The echo canceling works but the whole thing is just too much of a hassle so I started using direct wiring again. They need to refine this product.
