I installed this unit in my 2003 Ford Police Interceptor, thinking that the opening in the dash was a Double DIN. I was wrong, Ford (in its infinite wisdom) made a 1-1/2 DIN, and the space for the rear of the unit wasn't tall enough to accept the VM9424.
Fortunately, I discovered that my 2003 had a redesigned defroster duct, and I was able to cut away the plastic rear dash support sufficient to clear the unit. A little filing of the front dash opening, and it slid right in. The unit looks good, is easy to use, and sound quality is very good. I definitely recommend this for a good in-dash starter. I subsequently purchased the BTM10 Bluetooth Module (I received the very similar BMT15 for the same price) and installed it without trouble. Incoming calls are clear, and my friends and associates swear they cannot tell I am using any sort of Bluetooth or speakerphone arrangement from their end- they report the sound quality as excellent. The main drawback is that the display is difficult to read in bright sunlight. Having no experience with other displays of this type, I cannot make a valid comparison.
