Good addition for my system.

Very easy to install, simply RCA in and RCA out. From what I can tell it cleaned up my bass signal and added some bass into otherwise not so bassy songs. Only use the bass knob if you don't mind your subs getting cut off at about 25hz, otherwise don't. Physically it is about the size of your hand and looks really cool when mounted next to an amplifier.

VS
FIRE!!!

I installed this processor thinking it would only help out my system, pushing the subs to the limit, which it did. Terribly. The whole time I was tuning it, I was worried that the subs might blow. But the last thing I expected was to see SMOKE coming out from the thing! Not even two weeks installed and the thing was BLOWN!!! But that's not the worst part, it opted to not die lonely and decided to take my amp WITH IT. Because of this thing, I have blown $60 AND I'm out an amp. While I agree it is not just to base an entire brand off of one product, I am never going to buy RE Audio again. I have read around and their products, much like Cerwin-Vega, have gone downhill in the past few years. Looking at this unit again, I noticed that the only vents are four small vents (if they were even designed to be vents at all, as they retain the screws that hold the chip inside the box to the casing) all on the bottom. That is a TERRIBLE way to design a car audio device. The unit sits flush against whatever you are mounting it to be it the floor, some wood, or, in my case, the cab wall. There is NO room for ventilation for the supposed "vents" and the lack of some kind of self-protection feature lead me to believe that this is a bad design. Now about the thing when it worked... The bass knob is an absolute joke. It really is that bad. It might as well be called the "distort" knob, because that was all that happens. When you turned up the knob, the subs played what seems like an octave or two lower and became frighteningly muddy with TERRIBLE SQ. It was atrocious. The dB's didn't even go up that much. When kept at "MIN" the signal comes out of the processor just like it came in, except with a (very) slight improvement in loudness and SQ. The sub-sonic filter on the bass remote (which has a minimum frequency of 35hz, which is technically not sub-sonic) would improve the sound quality a little, but at the expense of some dB's and some lower notes. Also, when the knob gets turned up, the little light next to it gets progressively brighter. This is a problem because this thing is WAY too bright when the knob is at MIN. Plus, the three lights on the unit itself flash to the beat of a song, and they are also too bright. I had this mounted on the back wall of my Ranger and I thought there was a cop pulling me over because the blue lights kept flashing and flashing right into my rear-view mirror. Plus, the Wide and Sweep knobs don't work all too well. The signal does get boosted as it comes out of the processor, but how much I don't know (7V is my best guess). Looking through the manual (which is vague and un-informative) I saw that it is in fact adjustable to something higher or lower, but you have to break the warranty seal and open the unit itself to get there. I thought this thing was a joke when I put it in but I only kept it because I waas too lazy to undo all of the work I had already did. Plus I thought it wouldn't really negatively affect me so I saw no harm in keeping it in. Boy, was I wrong.

Seems to lack some adjustability. Hard to get right amount of effect without too much increased level. I used to use a lot of eq now i use this. Great for music with with low amount of low bass. I would buy again.

I picked this up for the hell of it and after 10 days of adjustment i dunno what i would do without this thing. Turn all your boost down on the deck and the amp. The knob for bass really should not go past 3/5ths of the way up. The second knob will clean up the lows after you dial in the desired punch you would like. Good if you know what to do I guess.

Pretty cool and love the remote bass control! However seems to change alot of the sound. I have had it about 2 months and still tuning it, also doing some reading with the remote bass hooked up it will only get down to 35hz. If you unplug the remote it will go lower and just acts as a line driver at that point.

I have used this bass processor and it is night and day. I have tried it on two different subwoofers (12 inch); the JL Audio W7 and Pioneer Championship Series Pro, both great sounding subs. Spanish bass has come out amazingly and low bass tones are deeper. Best price on Sonic so get it while it's low.
