I have this with two kicker zx400.1 and it gives the voltage to keep the amps from running too hard off the low voltage my radio puts out. I like that you can fine tune your system off of this, its great. No pops from the amps how I have it hooked up to a constant 12v source. As always sonic has everything car audio I need, THANKS SONIC!! |

I used this preamp to boost the line level to my sub amp. It worked well and sounded good, but made the subs "thump" on turn off. This could probably have been solved by running the preamp power from constant 12V instead of from the remote (it takes very little current) or delaying the turn off, but it annoyed me so much that I just removed it and found another solution. |

It boosts the signal from my iPod that I have hooked directly to the amp. I am running a Vibe Litebox2 amp, Polk MM691 speakers and the PAC LD-10 in an icechest radio. I hooked the ipod directly to the amp with out the line driver and it was ok. I then hooked up the line driver and only had to turn it up 1/8 of the way. It made it sound like a dream. If you are going to hook an MP3 player to the amp with out a headunit I would suggest you get a linedriver. This one does not have any mounting screws or holes to use your own. I ended up using velcro to attach it to the inside of my cooler. It is a little flimsy but once you set it and find a way to mount it you shouldn't worry about that.

Works well and does the job, but build quality is very cheap.
