I have had other gps devices before and this is hands down the worst one I've had. The interface is not too bad but not as slick as say a Tom Tom, where it really falls down is the add ons, there are no, I repeat no free map updates, pioneer seems to annually offer an add on that you can buy to update the maps. Poi's is another thing, mine came with a offer for free points of intrest update (downloadable), I have placed three orders for it, several phone calls to pioneer, and still have not got the bloody download.
Another point that is just dumb is that you cannot program the device unless you are stopped with the e-brake on, this does not take into account that you may have passengers that are doing it for you, you can do favorites at least though. Not updateable without an expensive update, weird interface, add on apps seem to be non existent (in Canada anyways), if your planning on a deck and u220 purchase I would skip this one and go for a name brand gps add in like Garmin or Tom Tom.
