We (my wife and I) like music from classical to R&B to Tool (metal) These speakers reproduce sounds you don't normally hear from headphones, ear buds, and low end speakers. Thick sound fills our car, all the tones balanced nicely, Tight bass, solid treble (not crashy, or painful/shrill), plenty of clean midrange, and all working in harmony to wash your ears with honey smooth sound.
These speakers were installed in the rear door panels, paired with a pioneer DEH2200 UB deck and Pioneer TS-A1674R speakers in the front doors. I have done many installs for myself and helped friends and by far the best sound comes from pairing like with like. Pioneer is not the loudest sound out of the box, but I am always impressed with the RANGE (28-29,000HZ! and 300watts?!?), and quality of Pioneer sound. WITHOUT AN aftermarket AMP. paired with kenwood, or JVC (tried these in another few cars, but not so good without the pioneer deck) these speakers will sound quiet and overblown (foggy/loose bass) and the highs will be shrill or piercing.
