This adapter does make for an easy, reliable connection for power and speakers. However, the Orange – Dash Light Dimmer/Illumination wire is connected, but NOT dimming the player. This could be the result of the head unit or vehicle, but it's frustratingly bright ALWAYS.

This kit was very easy to install. Color coded easy. Plug and play after connecting the wires to the headunit.

It is much easier to connect wires at the workbench and then just plug this adapter in at the car. Correctly connected my Pioneer head unit with my Ford Focus wiring harness.

With a little research you'll find out that this harness can be attached to the head unit outside the vehicle. Then the installation becomes an almost simple swap.
I verified the wires/colors are a match, some were not, but easy enough to get passed it. Then soldered all wires appropriately and secured them with heatshrinkable tube and a few zip ties. Made it look like a professional install, not that it matters since it's hidden in the dash. Took the old unit out and the new one in.

As a note: If you add someting like steering wheel controls you can or need to use more wires out of this harnes. Do some research. I would buy one of these again if I need to, they are real time savers.

I had to move a couple of wires to match my car correctly but it was still A LOT easier then cutting up the factory harness. Plus if I decide to sell the car, I can easily drop the factory radio back in place.

DIRECT FIT... MAKES THE INSTALL EASY

I installed this in a '04 F150 FX4. I soldered the connections and used shrink tube over the connections. This is a better connection than using splitters. The wires matched up well with the Sony DVD player I bought.

What can I say about a harness? It works. I've had mine for over 3 years with no issues. The instructions were sufficient enough for me to install my own headunit for the first time with no prior experience.

You will need this harness to connect aftermarket radio equipment and it works as advertised. Without this you will have a mess on your hands trying to connect all those wires! Buy this harness with your radio.

It's a wiring harness. It's kind of hard to mess that up. There were a couple of wires that were a little too close in color but other than that it was fine.

If you are doing a self install you simply must have one of these wiring adapters. Saved countless time and frustration when installing my audio system.

easy installation

I have installed high end car stereos in my cars since I was a teenager decades ago, but have never used a pre-wired compatible connector before (probably because they didnt exist). Sonic supplied this with my purchase of a Jensen VM9022HD receiver and it is terrific. Not only does it save installation time and your back (splicing under the dash wiring), but if you decide to convert your vehicle back to the original equipment, it's clean, quick and easy. Highly recommended, wish I tried it many years ago.

Pretty standard stuff. Lots of lead, good quality wire with the appropriate color coding. Hard to go wrong with this one.
