Great HU for the price.

Lots of features for the price makes this a good buy. HD Radio sounds great as long as I'm near the city, but once I get far out into the suburbs it doesn't always come in digital. I generally fault the FCC for the low power restrictions on digital radio, not the radio itself. All the basics are here, AM/FM/CD/MP3, Front USB and 3.5mm inputs. Remote works well. The display is a pleasing blue that goes well with the rest of my interior gadgets (like my blue radar detector). I am happy with the sound quality and build quality of the radio. No regrets with this purchase.

VS
Good deck but not intuitive

This is a good deck. It sounds Awesome. I have it running 2 xr2110 mono amps for the alpine type s subs and an xr2410 running spe6000 alpine mids. The digital radio reception is a little squirily sometimes. The Bass and Treble adjustments are not intuitive. You have to set high pass and low pass filters. All in all the radio controls are not intuitive at all. Bottom line it sounds good but takes some getting use to.

I have owned the clarion cz401 for six months now it is a great hd stereo just recently the volume started to go up when you try to turn it down sometimes.

HD radio sounds ok some stations have a echo
need a preamp volume control normal FM stations sounds like a tape playing the music.

The led light is so bright at night and when the dimmer wire is hooked up it only dims the display not the light around the volume knob. Noticed the difference in sound quality right when i hooked it up even with the stock 6.5 inch speakers.

Best feature and great sound! I needed the pre-amp output and with 4 watts I get a great full sound even with the convertible top down. For a music player that's my number one requirement so I'm happy I bought it. Worst feature - display is unreadable in the daytime especially with the top down. HD radio causes a weird echo at times and does not really help in pulling in a weak signal, so not much advantage there.

I just got this in the mail yesterday and the shipping only took two days from when it left the warehouse. It sounds great and very clear even without using an amp and the audio settings and eq are very customizable. It does take a little getting used to but once you do you wont be disappointed. It is definately worth more than the money to me.
