The OEA-4 Factory Amp Interface is a non-electronic interface device which allows an Aftermarket Stereo to integrate into most Factory Amplified Systems, such as Bose or JBL equipped vehicles.

The OEA-4 interface is equipped with output level gain controls that can be adjusted for proper sound level matching. This is done by adjusting the gains of each of the 4 channels through the appropriate small access holes on top of the OEA-4's case. A very small flatblade screwdriver is require to perform the adjustments.

Well Built and Easy to Use

March 23, 2012

I needed a compact line out converter with balanced inputs and outputs, along with DC blocking. The Scosche OEA4 fit those requirements. It uses electrolytic coupling capacitors to block DC and balanced resistive attenuation circuits to drop the signal level. I measured the minimum attenuation at 13.5dB. From that level, a pot on each channel allows you to drop the level progressively to zero. I needed 20dB of attenuation and that was easy to get by adjusting the pots. The input impedance is around 500 ohms. I did not measure frequency response, but found no degradation of sound.

The OEA4 was well built and about the size of a deck of cards (but twice as thick) making it small enough to fit where I needed it to go. The wire leads were pre-stripped and tinned, making soldering easier. The wire colors followed the standard speaker color code.

I would recommend this product for owners with a factory Bose system. Easy to install. I think it has a better sound after the install.

'-5 Pontiac Vibe w/Moon and Tunes. Couldn't eliminate speaker turn-off speaker pop using preouts from Pioneer head unit. Tested using speaker wires from head unit and it solved the problem, but need to adjust output so as to not fry the system.

Wanted to install a head unit on my 99 Miata with factory Bose speakers, and didn't really feel like paying LITERALLY twice as much from Crutchfield...

will the scosche OEA4 fit my 1997 infini
ty i 30 ?
A shopper on Jul 16, 2015
Best Answer: It is not car specific. However, it is job specific. Make sure you understand its purpose.
I assume you are replacing your factory radio. The OEA4 will allow you to connect the
higher power output of the replacement radio to your factory amp.

i got a bmw z4 and i think the oem amp is low input so is it the good thing to put between the aftermarket radio and the oem amp ?
Yves J on May 14, 2015
Best Answer: your aftermarket radio should have two types of output. pre-amp (RCA connectors) and speaker level (wire harness). the radio pre-amp connects directly to your factory amp. the radio speaker level output needs the converter to reduce the power (and reduce noise) before connection to the amp.

Hi ! I have 2014 Aucra RDX with Tech. package with GPS XM Radio , already bough Two 10" JL sub.in box and MB Quart 1000watts amp , but i can't get any input single for the amp from any spearker wires ?
Frank on Mar 28, 2016
Best Answer: Not sure I understand your question. But I used this on my car after installing a Pioneer DVD head unit. The car has 6 speakers + sub and factory amp (Moon & Tunes pkg). The Scosche OEA4 is a direct connection between the head unit speaker outputs and the car speaker wires at which connect to the factory head unit. You make adjustments on the Scosche interface, so the car amp, combined with the head unit amp doesn't blow out the system. I'm no audio expert, by any means. Since you're modifying your system, this may not work. You'd be best to consult someone who specializes in car audio.
