The R.I.P.S. System
R.I.P.S. stands for "Regulated, Intelligent Power Supply" and is a central feature of JL Audio's Slash v2 amplifiers. The remarkable R.I.P.S. System™ ensures consistent power delivery over a wide range of battery voltages and load impedance's.
"Regulated" means that the power supply adjusts its operation so as to maintain the amplifier's rated power output and low distortion operation over a wide range of vehicle voltages.
The "Intelligent" portion of the R.I.P.S. System is a circuit that actually monitors output current to optimize the amplifier's output power over a wide range of load impedance (1.5 ohm to 4 ohm per channel).

This amp performs way above expectations. Easy to install (FOLLOW THE DIRECTIONS INCLUDED EXACTLY). I listen to heavy metal (Pantera, Fear Factory, Slipkont, Slayer, etc....) and this amp is simply awesome. I have heard alot of amps and JL seems to have it right, period. Every note regardless of high or low is crystal clear. The louder you turn it up, the sound remains perfect, no distortion regardless of volume level. Have Pioneer Premier speakers and this amp rocks them, bottom line. If you install correctly, you will be as extremely pleased as I am. Sonic is a good company to deal with, they had it shipped and at my front door exactly as I had ordered and paid for.

This amp is the best (4) channel amp on the market in it's class of not very much. It has incredible power and a pristine crossover. I hooked up 2 of eminence 6 inch loudspeaker needing 100 watts each to this amplifier which is rated at 75 watts @ 2 ohms and oh my i can be heard from blocks away. The amplifier performed its duties as a 5 star general. It did not over heat nor did it cut out as other amps would. I salute this JL audio 300.4 amplifier well done.
