Could not be happier
I'm by no means an 'audiophile' but I can appreciate great sounding equipment. And the Fiio X3 2nd Gen surely does!
It's got plenty of power, the sound is balanced and not overly clinical, very enjoyable.
It looks beatiful and the size is perfect. I love the USB DAC function which works without hiiccups on my mac.
The interface is sober but nice and the only thing that I could notice is that turning the wheel is not as sensitive as it should be, when turning you feel little steps but dthose step do not correspond to the slection advancing, I'm not sure I'm making any sense and anyways is very minor and doesn;t really bother me at all.
Overall I'm very happy.

First of all, the built quality is super good. All metal body with well placed buttons. It's as solid as iPod classic. The design of mid wheel is such a bliss that you can quickly surf around contents.
Speaking of the sound quality, CS4398 is a very mature DAC which produces consistent good sound. It will never let you down. All format supported: MP3, M4A, FLAC, APE, WAV, DSD, etc. Literally you can put all of you digital music collection into this tiny beast.
What I love the most is the software: a very friendly user interface. I can find what I want very fast. No redundant information. This is definetely a huge improvement compared to the old x3.
I recommend it to all who are seeking a portable, high quality and easy-to-use hifi music play with a $200 price tag.

Where do I begin?? I've been an iPod user for years. Honestly, I would still be an iPod user were it not for the wonky iTunes software that I finally got fed up with. Thus, I began my research. Months later, I decided on the Fiio X1 due to my budget. THEN, I found the X3 on a great sale at Sonic & took the plunge. OMG! If I might compare the sound of an iPod as sweet sugar, the sound of the Fiio X3 as SWEEEEEEET HONEY!!! I've loaded my favorite music (as flac) on the X3 and I cannot believe how incredibly awesome the sound is compared to the iPod. It's like going from a VW beetle to a Lamborghini! And, get this -- NO special software like iTunes. I personally use dBpoweramp to rip my music to flac, into the standard windows 'my music' folder. Then, I plug in my X3 to my pc via a usb cable. It opens a window. I put the X3 window side-by-side with my My Music folder and drag and drop the folders (albums) to the X3. E A S Y ! ! ! I enjoy my music with a pair of Grado's headphones. Exquisite. I am SO happy with my Fiio X3!! Thanks to Sonic Electronix for an awesome product at an awesome price. Amazon, of which I am a Prime member, NEVER offered any Fiio products at lower prices during the Christmas season. AND Sonic delivered my X3 in less than 5 days! Take the plunge...I do not think you will be disappointed...especially if you are an iPod user!!!!

Not a user friendly after all. The manual does not provide you the full details on how to sync them. You also have to update software makes thing so troublesome. They should install a build in wifi so that it can be updated automatically on the product itself rather than connected to the computer and search for their website to update. Time wasted. The sound seems flat like there was no equaliser build in. Expensive product with no extra features.

I finally decided to take my music to the next level and the only reasonable solution was to get a portable music player. I purchased the X3 because I wanted to be able to listen to my music in high resolution with minimal loss both at home and in all my vehicles. The biggest feature that the X3 provides is a digital output. There are literally no other portable music players that offer a digital out unless you don't mind spending thousands of dollars, so the X3 is most definitely a bargain. I use the digital output as the main source for music in all my vehicles. I have Audison Bit Processor's, a Bit Ten D, and a Bit One, and to tell you the truth, the difference in quality from CD to a lossless playback that stays digital and doesn't go through multiple digital to analog conversions is drastic. I have full DA systems in both my vehicles and having only one conversion done at the amplifier, Audison Voce 5.1k with Bit In interface installed, completely changes the way you listen to music .The listening experience with full digital audio is as comparable to listening to music on FM and then on a CD, but going from CD to digital with minimal conversions. I highly recommend the X3 to people that want to steer away from apple sources and itunes; the drag and drop file storage is awesome!

I recommend this product to everyone. The sound quality is absolutely AMAZING. This product makes cheap headphones sound great. The only thing I wish for would be a bass boost. Don't let that influence you purchase. Totally Awesome!!!
Excellent quality and great price
Best closed headphones i've ever heard. Not that I've heard a lot of them. But sound are very good and natural.
T70 - A great monitoring experience, not a great listening experience
I want to preface this review by saying I won these in a contest on head-fi. These headphones are built well (wish the cups were metal though) and have a premium feel. The pads are also soft and big, definitely wearable for a long time.
The sound of these is very treble heavy and bass light. Everything sounds thin, and for monitoring it's easy to hear all the tracks. For musical enjoyment though, I simply couldn't find music that I would prefer these to over any of my other headphones. Overall, a great set of headphones.
AWESOME!
Best sound I have heard in years. New to dacs, a little hard to understand the instructions on putting music or songs on device. Love the sound! Will recommend this to everyone I know, and have.
