Creative Sound BlasterX P5 In-ear Gaming Headset

The Creative Sound BlasterX P5 In-ear Gaming Headphones Offers an Incredible Listening Experience

CLEARER, LOUDER, HARDER, BETTER. Get the best gaming audio anywhere. As a smaller and lighter headset that delivers detailed audio with far superior noise isolation, Sound BlasterX P5 is the perfect headphone for gamers who want to enjoy gaming not only at their desk, but also on the go.

Built with premium materials, two professionally-tuned, high sensitivity 7mm FullSpectrum drivers deliver true soundstage with rapid response, rich cues and responsive bass; giving gamers a tactical advantage through the ability to perceive details, depth and location with pinpoint accuracy in real time.

Port Tube Array for Optimized Bass

Sound BlasterX P5 features a port tube array that allows the headphone to punch above its weight when it comes to bass reproduction for headphones of this size. The array modifies the bass response properties of the earphone housing and increases low frequency response.

The Creative Sound BlasterX P5 In-ear Gaming Headphones Offer an Incredible Listening Experience

Spiral-Ribbed Ear Tips for Advanced Noise Isolation

A well-balanced audio signature promises an excellent soundstage for hours of gaming without listening fatigue, and swappable soft, spiral-ribbed ear tips that come in three sizes ensure a perfect fit for an improved isolation. The spiral-ribbed design is designed to work very much like an exoskeleton that keeps the ear tip pushed out snugly against the inside of the ear canal.

What you get is comfort with the perfect seal that keeps great audio in, but the noise of the outside world out with up to 95% passive noise isolation.

Inline Microphone

Traditional inline microphones do the job for phone calls, but often lack the clarity required for gaming communications.

The inline, omni-directional electret condenser microphone on the Sound BlasterX P5 is designed to deliver the vocal quality of the full sized boom microphones used in gaming headset. Communicate clearly with your team mates - no more mis-comms.

Convenient Controls

The microphone also features an easily accessible mute button, as well as play/pause button that offers control over your music and voice calls.

Seamless Connectivity

The Sound BlasterX P5 offers a wide range of connectivity options for a holistic gaming experience. The 3.5 mm 4-pole jack cable can be used with any smart device such as your iPhone and iPad, as well as today's gaming consoles such as PlayStation 4. There's an included 4-pole to 3.5 mm Stereo and Mic Splitter Cable (that fits the older 3-pole plug-in implementation) where one jack is used for microphone input, and the other for audio output.

BlasterX Acoustic Engine Lite Software

Although the in-ear headset sounds great on its own, we have tapped onto our rich history of creating class-leading audio algorithms to power up the sound of the Sound BlasterX P5 beyond the realm of physical limitations through audio enhancements optimized for your gameplay.

TheCreative Sound BlasterX P5 In-ear Gaming Headphones Offer an Incredible Listening Experience

Available for Windows, Sound BlasterX Acoustic Engine Lite offers preset audio profiles specially programmed according to the audio settings of popular games today. When activated, these profiles bring out the essence of the game you are playing. From the whizz of bullets flying past your ear in your favorite FPS game to the terrifying roar of a troll from an adventure game, these sounds come alive with our professionally tweaked enhancements!

Headphone Design

Headphone Type

This is the design of the earpieces on the headphones. Some headphones go inside the ear, while others rest on the outside of the ear. This helps you know exactly what type of headphones you will be receiving.

In-Ear: The ear buds go into the ear. Most often, the right and left ear buds are two separate pieces.

Enclosed-Ear: Usually are found on the larger headphones. They rest on top of the ear and have padding for comfort, as well as enclosing the ear to the speaker. This type of headphone helps to filter out surrounding noise.

On-Ear: This type of headphone involves the speaker sitting gently on the ear without going in the ear or sealing it off.

In-Ear
Headband Type

Headphone type refers to the construction of the headphones.

Around the Ear means that the headphones wrap around the ear to provide a secure fit. This is most often seen in active and sports headphones.

Around the Neck means that the headphones wrap around the neck. This is also seen in active and sports headphones.

Earbuds means that the right and left sides of the headphones are separated and will fit securely into the ear. These are small, compact, and user friendly.

Over the Head headphones mean that the right and left speakers are connected with a support that goes over the head and rests on top. This is the typical headphone type.

Audio Features

Driver Type

The physical design of the driver in the headphones.

Balanced Armature:
A balanced armature driver uses a coil wrapped around an armature which is held in between two magnets until it is stimulated by an electrical current. When stimulated, this armature is magnetized which causes it to rotate one way or the other around a pivot point which moves the diaphragm to create sound. Balanced armature driver headphones are generally earbuds and can have multiple drivers in each earbud.

Dynamic:
Dynamic drivers are the most common driver type. They feature a permanent magnet, usually neodymium, a voice coil and a conical diaphragm to drive your music. A dynamic headphone driver looks pretty much identical to any typical home theater speaker.

Electrostatic:
Electrostatic drivers are made up of an extremely thin membrane, usually a coated PET film, stretched between two metal plates. An electrical signal is applied to the metal plates to create an electrical field which, depending on its polarity, draws the speaker diaphragm toward one of the plates which forces air through the perforations in the diaphragm which generates the sound wave.

Planar Magnetic:
A planar magnetic driver is made up of a large membrane suspended between two sets of oppositely aligned magnets. An electric charge is applied to the membrane to induce movement and produce sound waves.

Dynamic
Impedance
The opposition to electric current, a higher impedance means a higher electrical resistance. This is measured in ohms.
16 ohms
Sensitivity
An efficiency or sensitivity rating tells you how effectively a speaker converts power into sound. The higher the number, the more efficient the speaker and the louder it will play with the same input power. An efficient speaker helps you maximize your available power. Most sensitivity ratings measure the speaker's output with 1 watt of input, 1 meter from the speaker. Some speakers' sensitivity is measured with 2.83 volts of input, instead of 1 watt.

Efficiency (1w/1m) is not an accurate indicator of a subwoofer's output capability and should not be used as a comparison to other speakers or subwoofers to determine which one is "louder".
114 dB
Driver Size
This refers to the diameter of the driver (speaker) on each side of the headphone.
7 mm
Frequency Response
The range of frequencies the speaker will reproduce (lowest frequency to the highest). Bigger is better, meaning the wider the range, the better. The optimal range is 20 - 20,000 Hz (which is the range of human hearing).
10 - 23,000 Hz
Audiophile
Audiophile headphones represent some of the finest headphones available. Audiophile headphones produce genuinely outstanding sound quality as well as extraordinary build quality, components and comfort. They are truly the finest headphones available.
No
Built-in Amplifier
This refers to whether the headphones have an amplifier built-in.
No
Amplifier Recommended
This refers to whether a separate headphone amplifier is recommended for use with a specific pair of headphones. It is highly recommended that any headphone with an impedance greater than 100 ohms be amplified.
No
Pass Throughs
Refers to whether a pair of headphones has an output to connect to another pair of headphones.
