The 08/09 series offers a hot new look and improved design, specifically with the new SoloKon technology and heating disbursement. The patented square design allows for 18% more cone, which translates to more sound for you compared to competing round subs. The SoloKon one-piece, injection-molded cone offers full-coverage back bracing that pushes more air and creates louder bass than ever before.
The Santoprene rubber surround of the L5 handles the power of the motor and cone, and a rear foam gasket secures the stamped-steel basket to any given baffle. Purchased the Kicker 08S10L52 about 6 months ago for my Honda Accord coupe. Finding the right amp and box are crucial for the Kicker woofer. That being said, this woofer provides a broad range of bass for a reasonable price. It can add subtle low-end enhancement to my factory head unit or vibrate the red paint off of my Honda.
I highly recommend this kicker for anyone that wants the ability to damage all eardrums, wooden structures, and wild life within a 50 meter radius for a good price

I have three of these on an autotek mm1 1500d. They not the loudest subs, but they hit hard, and very low. The 10" handles 450 watts rms, combine this with a square sub, and it puts out! Kicker cured the broken tinsel lead problem, by sewing the lead to the spider. Don't forget this sub goes in the smallest of boxes. Kicker really over engineered these subs. Highly recommend these subs, (and autotek amp,) for the absolute best quality, (and quantity! : ), your money can buy.

I found out what all the talk was about. I put this sub in the backseat of my frontier crew cab. In a bandpass box, with closed volume in the top and ported volume in the back and oh my, this thing kicks me in the back every time the bass hits. I am powering this with the alpine mrp-m500 and it hits hard. Replaced dual 10" alpine type S and this thing hits harder. Smooth and accurate bass, I listen to bass of all kinds from blues, to big band, to rap and heavy metal, it can play them all. best 10" you can buy.
