Worked just fine when i was in range of radio stations that were broadcasting in HD. Unfortunately I don't live close enough to a big city to appreciate the crisp, clear, quality of HD radio

This add on was easy to install on my AVIC-F700BT head unit and sounds great. No problems getting crisp, clear signals.

Only con is that not every station broadcasts in HD yet.

AVIC-F700BT/GEX-P10HD - head unit wont display frequency on preset page, so you have to remember which preset is which station, not a major inconvenience.

February 19, 2009 Has the Features I Was Looking For...But Unnecessarily Confusing!

I did a lot of research before selecting this unit. I wanted a system that was telephone/bluetooth ready, was HD radio compatible (with an additional HD tuner), and also had an ipod hookup with full controls from the head unit. I also wanted a more subdued face layout (which I felt was more appropriate for an older, classic car). This unit fit those conditions.

Unfortunately, the unit is MADDENINGLY confusing. It is not intuitive at all. Most of the controls are done from one wheel that spins clockwise and counterclockwise, and also shifts right/left and north/south. Makes for a cleaner face (which I wanted), but it's just flat out confusing.

Since I don't drive the car that much, I have not spent all that much time listening to the radio, but the times I have, I would have to say I've been frustrated with the whole experience. Menus are not where you think they should be. Accessing even minor controls (like, treble increase, balance, etc) can be a pain. Another example: when my iPod is connected and stowed away, I have not even been able to figure out how to fast forward to the next song (!), let alone scroll through my various playlists on my iPod through the head unit. I tried syncing my phone to the head unit but could not get it to work. I did listen to HD radio which sounds a bit better than regular radio. Yay.

The manual is roughly the size of a book, and they don't even provide you a paper copy--it's that big and bulky. Rather, they give you a CD and you have to print however many pages it is. Even the guide is overly confusing.

I own many, many electronic devices, and I have never owned something less intuitive, to be honest. I would not recommend.

PS> I was not sure how to rate "Look/Design" below...it has a clean face which is great ("Look"), but terrible access (menus, commands, etc.) to the unit's features ("Design").
