this is a great speaker but the one problem that I ran into was the fitting. I was told that i needed this size for the door but it is actually a shallow 6x9. after a little shaping to the door frame i got it to fit perfectly. Its good for mid to high range sound, but a 6x9 would give it a little more thump.

I bought a pair of these to replace a set of Polk DB6550's I was running (and got bored with )in the rear of my truck. When you open the box you'll be impressed in the size difference between this 6 3/4" speaker vs a 6.5". The cone , basket, crossovers ( and even the tweeter) are notably larger /beefier. Sound wise, I think they are at least as good as the (very popular) polks. They do share ALLOT of Pioneers high end speaker materials and tech). Highs are bright but not harsh. Mids are defined and natural but deliver considerably more midbass.( No doubt due to the oversized driver.) ( I'm powering with 100WRMS, BTW) They fit a little tight but well worth the effort! I think this speaker delivers exceptional bang for the buck in 6.5/6.75" coax applications. Would be especially appreciated where no Sub will be running.
