These are the newest speakers from Pioneer and they retail 180.00.....no brainer after that

I have been a pioneer man since the early 70s and they have never let me down.

For a relatively inexpensive auto speaker system, I have used Pioneer speakers in the past and have been extremely happy. When comparing the specifications of these speakers against speakers systems three times as expensive, these is simply no comparison. The frequency range which, is perhaps the most important specific of any speaker system since this translates to what you actually hear, is incredible for speakers in this price range. Highly recommended.

is this for the pair? Or each
A shopper on Aug 11, 2014
Best Answer: The price is per pair. I am very happy with these speakers and glad I bought them. Just check for the speaker mounting depth which is 3.5 inches.

Based on several reviews, am thinking of buying them, am looking for top sound quality and crystal clear sound, any advise please between Alpine SPR 69 and those D series?

Best Answer: I have an all Pioneer system except for the amp. DEH-80PRS head unit running in standard mode with TS-D1720C compenents front doors and TS-D6902R in the rear deck of a 2006 Malibu LT. The system is amped by a Boss CX600. My ears hurt before I can get them to distort. The TS-D6902R's are running at 80HZ. The TS-D1720C running at 100HZ. Had to run the TS-D1720C at 120HZ and the TS-D6902R at 100HZ when installed. They throw out a good amount of base. Not the type that drowns out the music and that you can here a car coming from down the street. I always thought that the term speakers need to break in was a myth but I take that back and admit I was wrong. My daughter has the Alpine SPR-69's in her Mitsubishi Gt running from a JVC KW-R910BT amped with the same amp I have. They are in the rear side panel at the seat level. The JVC head unit doesn't have anywhere near the sound adjustment that the Pioneer head unit has but the Alpine SPR-69's still sound phenomenal. It all comes down to the head unit and how well the system is set up and tweaked. What sounds good in one car may not sound as good in another. There are a lot of bad reviews about audio equipment which are not justified because people do not take the time to set up there system. Especially with a head unit like I have. At first I didn't think much the DEH-80PRS but after taking the time to set it up properly WOW. Neither speaker is way better than the other. You won't make a bad decision with either speaker set. Good luck with your set up.
