I recently installed this in my Ford Explorer, attached to a Kenwood headunit. It powers 4 Rockford Fosgate speakers with ease. It sounds great and has simple gain adjustments. Highly recommended!! Haven't used it long enough to see if it gets hot or not, but I don't think it will. Works fine with an 8-gauge power wiring.

Was excited about getting this amp, liked the features and was happy about there being a cooling fan on it. Never had a problem with MTX before. BUT... After about a year I can only get about 1-2 songs before the amp overheats. I think this was an obvious design flaw when they built them, and they knew it, so they band-aided it by adding a fan instead of redesigning. Got great sound out of it while it lasted, but not worth the 200 bucks to only last a year.

I've had no problems with this equipment or any MTX products. I'm using monster cable s202-2c-15 for all my speakers. MTX-TDX 4002, MTX-XT693. I love the sound of my music coming from this amp. Need I said more.
