Why did you choose this?
Sonic Electronix Store
I have heard so many good reviews on this that I thought I would try it. I could not beat the price anywhere else, not even Amazon.

I am running two amps, 4 6x9" Kicker speakers, and 2 15" Power Acoustik MOFOS. When I turn up the music, although I already have a 5 farad cap, the lights just about go out. So, I needed another cap. This was my choice because it also distributes power as well as stores it.

I perches this item before for my truck and it is the best capacitors there is. I would highly recommend this to anybody. I am now buying another one for my car I give it a 5 STAR RATING

if i run 3 amps, how will i ground my cap?
john s on Aug 10, 2014
Best Answer: U dont have to use ur cap to ground ur amps. Ground ur cap then use it to ground 2 amps and then ground ur smallest amp to the ur vehicle.

I have a 5 Farad hybrid capacitor on the mainline in a 3 Amp hookup. So the cap supplies all 3 amps through a distribution block. All 3 amps are Audison Thesis, a 4 channel for the tweet and midranges, a 2 channel for the midbass' and a mono for the two subs wired at 1 ohm. My 5 Farad Stinger cap isn't helping and the lights continue to dim when the bass kicks in. I already have the Big3 going and all 0 guage OFC wiring. Can I use this cap in my current setup and hook it only to the the amp that's supplying the subwoofers? I would take another power wire positive from the distribution block and would supply this new 10 Farad cap which I would directly connect to a cap connection which this amp provides. I'm just concerned if this will work since this new 10F cap will also be drawing power from my 5F cap?

Best Answer: The Speaker amp in truth doesn't really need a capacitor at all because it won't draw the huge short sharp pulses of power that the Subwoofer Amplifiers will. I would suggest removing the distribution block and the stinger cap altogether and running one Rockford Fosgate RFC10HB for the Subwoofer Amps only. As far as caps go the RF seems to be the only one on the market that truly gives anywhere near the rated capacitance quoted. I have seen many a competition stereo's down here in NZ running the RF because the other Caps are really just wee toys and when they have tried them they have performed so badly that they resorted to removing there no brand caps altogether, getting a bigger battery and the system going better than with the cap! Ofcourse a bigger better alternator is really the ideal solution for massive power but if you just want only a Cap to take the Sub Amp pulls from a mid level output system then the RF is the best and also acts as a 0 gauge wire capable distribution block aswell.

How do you charge this type of capacitor?
T-Top on Sep 16, 2014
Best Answer: The cap comes with a charging board that has to be connected as directions state. The board which is a circuit board with leds and a resistor will tell you when the cap is finished when the led light is not visibly on anymore meaning it gets dimmer as the charge gets stronger. The board can also be used to discharge the cap. Instructions are included and you will need wire to connect board. I used 14 gauge stranded.
