The Kenwood KCA-iP100 iPod cable performs just like the cable that was included with your iPod from Apple; however, it comes with a more rugged design that stands up to automotive use and temperatures. You can use it to connect your iPod to any 2008-up Kenwood car stereo that features direct iPod control via USB input such as the KDC-X492 or KDC-MP438U.
You can also use the KCA-iP100 to playback iPod video files through a 2008 or newer Kenwood multimedia receiver.

the ipod adapter is a pretty good product. One positive is it charges while your ipod plays. it also displays the track name on the display.
