I purchused one of these to replace an older Infintiy 12" sub that burned out a voicecoil. I was going to buy an Alpine Type R but after speaking to local stereo shops they both recommended the Kenwood eXcelon 12". I researched it further on here and decided to buy, I couldn't have asked for anything better. I have it wired 2ohm to an Alpine MRP-M500, Alpine 9884 Headunit, Bassworx ported enclosure. Amp is set to 2v input with 6db gain on BassBoost. Before I could turn the volume to 15 out of 35, but afterwards I get car shaking bass with volume at 5. I can't believe how much louder, deeper, and house shaking my car is now at such low volumes. I can't wait to see what this thing does once it's broken in and I dare turn it up to 15+. Next buy will be some FatMat. Bass doesn't over power mids which are Kenwood KFC-P708 6.3/4 Componets, and eXcelon KFC-X693 6x9s powered by PolkAudio PA660, and 160amp Alternator. If your having issues deciding ... just buy this and connect it to the proper amp in the correct box. You will be happy !!!

Seriously I got the matched eXcelon XR1s amp pushing this the sound quality is so clean n the bass is so low its perfect. I'd compare it to a JL Audio 12W6 or Alpine Type R. Its not as loud as the W6 n not as deep as the Type R its the perfect combination

These ratings on this sub are very rough, i have a kenwood 900 watt + amp on this sub currently, and i actually have it turned a little down because at a certain point, it began to start burning up the coils in this sub, could of very well been just the smell of them breaking in, but i'd rather not find out. the sub is meh at best in quality. I've heard much better. this was a good solution at the time for my financial situation, but I already am replacing it after 4 months, it's entry level gear in my opinion.

Man these woofers absolutely drum. I put them on a 800 - watt amp and watch them beat the block down. Changed to a 1000 - watt amp and i am so pleased with this product.
