should I get these and mount them in the rear deck or get an adapter and do 6.5 inch prime R1 components? what would sound better?

Best Answer: The only way you will know which speakers will be better than the other is look at each ones specs and match the specs of whichever speaker you choose correctly with the amp you choose to push them. For example you want to match up the...

RMS: 160W Total (80 watts per per speaker)

with 2 channel amp that is RMS: 160W Total (80 watts per channel)

The higher the RMS wattage the louder the speaker will be. Another thing you want to pay attention to is the...

Sensitivity: 90dB

The higher the dB number the less power it needs to be loud. So a speaker with a...

Sensitivity: 96dB vs a speaker with a...

Sensitivity: 90dB that has the same RMS wattage rating the speaker with the ...

Sensitivity: 96dB is going to be louder but not necessarily clearer.

are these and the 4 inch speakers 2 ohm stable?
matty on Mar 1, 2015
Best Answer: Hello Matt,

Speakers are NOT "stable" to a certain impedance. "Stable" refers to an Amplifiers ability to see work properly down to a specific impedance. With that said, you could - in theory - wire four R169X2 down to 1ohm if you wanted to, and the speakers will work just fine...however, good luck finding a full range amp stable to that load. The point is, you are asking the wrong question; The speakers CAN be wired to any load you wish, they don't care, but its the AMP that will response to that impedance and will determine compatibility.

is it possible to wire these to 2 ohms on a 4 channel amp?
matthup on Nov 6, 2014
Best Answer: on a 4 channel amp they should be good just if ur doing it to get ur vocal quality over the bass of a sub I'd suggest putting a processor on the sub and the speaker amp to insure all ur bass goes one way and ur vocals go another but yes u can hook them up to a 4 channel check the watts rating to see about where u can tune to though or u will blow them
