these things bump like crazy.
i built a box that is 5.2 cubic ft that is split in half with 2 on each side and 2 ports 4 inch big and 20 in deep in each chamber. i have a kenwood x1r with a kenwood kac-993 deck and it bumps so hard i can barely breath i have cerwin vega component speakers all around and a kac x4r amp to those and it is in a 99 malibu and these subs are by far the loudest i have heard they compete with the cars at comps easily i have them running at 2 ohm so they are getting 1200 watts rms power they are flexin tuff

I just finished building a bandpass for ONE of these subwoofers.
Its big....
The ported section is 1.2 cubic feet with a slot port about 2 inches wide by 10 inches tall by 11 inches long. The sealed section is exactly 1 cubic foot and is stuffed heavily with fill. This is where the magnet is. I know its somewhat backward, you are supposed to install the speaker so that its magnet is in the ported section for proper voice coil cooling, but I don't care.
I am pushing this subwoofer with a US Amp 800.2 in stereo mode, the left channel pushing one voice coil and the right channel pushing the other. Kicker power and ground wires. These amplifiers are highly underrated, so the sub is receiving at least 100 watts RMS to each coil, but oh well. Gain 1/3 the way up, bass boost 1/3 way up (centered at 40Hz). I went from two of these, each in 1.1 cubic feet sealed enclosures to just this one and - it - is - so - awesome...
I honestly cannot believe my ears. Its louder than when I had two in the sealed box.... JUST ONE IS deeper, much much deeper and louder. I am truly astonished. Also, the really low bass is very, very pronounced. Before, i could barely get the lift gate to my jeep cherokee to rattle, I had to push them hard. Now, everything rattles, the roof rack, doors, windows, i just can't get over this setup. I'm now building an identical box for the other.
This speaker is made for a bandpass with these or similar specs. All the other enclosures are nothing but compromises. Expect for midbass(I don't want that at all) this one hits every note and boy is it loud for being only 200 watts! Get two for a bandpass, give them about 200 watts RMS to each, and you'll be really happy! Hope this was helpful!

I have had this subwoofer in three different enclosure, manufacturer specs for sealed enclosure (.7cubic feet), for ported (1 cubic feet) and my own sealed(1.1 cubic foot) and mine sounds the best. The 1 cubic foot ported is loudest in its tuned frequency, but everything else is poor. Everything out of that set up sounds horrible. The.7cubic foot small sealed sounds pretty good but doesn't go low at all. BUT, my 1.1 sealed box gets loud, not as loud as the ported though. Mine goes lower than everything else and sounds the cleanest, but with about 1/3 less power handling. 150 watts rms in my box will push one to its limits without distortion. The .7 cubic foot one is a bit louder than mine, but its a trade off. I like the bass to go lower and i am willing to trade off a little spl to do so. I recommend this speaker cause its a DVC that can come with each coil in 2 ohms or 4 so it allows you to do more with it. Looks great in my opinion! I oprefer this one over kickers entry level subs, including the 12 incher. Yes, I prefer this ten over kickers entry level 12. 50 more watts RMS and its looks awesome
