Alpine Type R speakers are the best door speakers/woofers I have ever had the pleasure of listening to! The sound is unreal! These speakers/woofers are un parallel to any other speaker/woofer on the market today. Alpine audio rules!!!

If I buy to pairs (four total speakers), what would be a good amp for that set up?
Tyler O on Jul 6, 2015
Best Answer: It depends on your goals. I installed an Alpine PDR-F50, but you could get away with Alpine's MRV-F300 or even the tiny KTP-445. Basically you want something that puts out at least 30 watts of clean power, which is more than any head unit can provide, to make these speakers play up to their potential. The closer you can get to the recommended 100 watts RMS, the more headroom you will have and the less chance of clipping. Although if you properly set up any amp it should not clip.

Would these 6x9's fit in my 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee? I've been told that they are too big to put into my doors
Drew A on Aug 9, 2014
Best Answer: From what I understand, they should fit if your factory speakers are 6x9s. I just intstalled them in the doors of my 2011 dodge avenger and its a perfect fit with the brackets the speakers come with. Hope this helps.

my brother has factory 6x9s in his 05 sebring and they kick ass for bass and I cant get a sub anymore so I want some bass like what he has would these produce nice bass for 6x9s?
A shopper on Apr 11, 2016
Best Answer: If you amp them yes, from a stock radio they won't hit like a sub, but you will get a little bass out of them. I have them in my wife's 13 Town and Country minivan and they sound great. For the price you can't beat these...

Best Answer: I am really amazed at the sound the Sony's put out. I have them just running off Sony MEX-GS610BT and am amazed at the sound quality. I understand they sound even better with more power being fed to them. In some ways i'd like to hear them behind a good amplifier just to see how much better they sound.

if i buy these do you give the wire plug with the purchase like crutchfield does so i dont have to cut the wires ?
joeyb on Dec 20, 2014
Best Answer: Hello Joe,

We do not provide the Speaker Harness with purchase. This is why you only pay $109.95 per pair vs $199.99 per pair from our competitor. Clearly you aren't really getting the parts for "free". However, if you can establish a part number, we likely carry the harness, if you wish to pick a set up. Nevertheless, most of our customers simply remove the harness and wire up the speakers in the traditional method.

I would like to know if I should replace the speaker wire when I install these, and if so, what gauge wire should I use for these speakers?

Best Answer: Hello James,

Ideally, yes. We suggest no less than 16gauge. This, however, is assuming you wish to run these at their intended 100w RMS from an aftermarket amplifier.

If you wish to run these from a Headunit, then there is no justifiable benefit from upgrading the wiring, because you aren't getting much power from a Headunit anyway.
