Purchase because of it's power rating. And sound quality. Had these over a year now; lows really sound good.

Best Answer: Simply, yes it will work. However, the RMS rating for the subs is 1500 watts and at a one ohm load the amp will only put out 1200 watts. For dual two ohm subs you can wire them for a load of 2 ohms or 8 ohms. Neither of which will place the amp in a good position to achieve its full potential. If you wire the subs for 2 ohm load then the amp will only be able to push around 800 watts; that is not close at all to the potential of the subs ability. So, to answer your question, yes it will work, but you will not get the amps full ability.

hi......i have Planet Audio AC4000.1D ANARCHY 4000-watts Monoblock Class D 1 Channel 1 Ohm Stable Amplifier and Power Acoustik MOFO-122X 12-Inch Competition Subwoofer Dual 2-Ohm Voice Coils. Can I put the IPUT LEVEL Amplifier on max??? or will burn the subwoofer????
A shopper on Nov 15, 2014
Best Answer: gains are not a volume control. you can find alot of things on the net as to how to set your gains correctly to keep from frying amp/sub or both. your headunit has preouts those preouts have a voltage set your amp to the preout voltage to atleast get a base to start from so as to not fry something. exmpl i have 4vlt preouts on my pioneer and have my pioneer amp set at 4vlts on the gain. im only giving my mofo 1000 max at 1ohm right now but it gets down low and loud even though my enclosure is a prefab and underspec. new enclosure drying now.

What would be the best amplifier to use with 2 of these subwoofers?
A shopper on Jan 6, 2015
Best Answer: A mono block that puts out 2000 watts rms should do them justice they are over rated and can say comfortably that they are under or around 1000 watts rms a piece. That should be nice and they sound really good in custom boxes. You want 3 cubic feet per sub for max output

Best Answer: Hello Timos, This subwoofer is a Dual 2 ohm, its important that you address is properly to avoid confusion. It does have the ability to be wired down to 1ohm, but this will NOT 'burn the subwoofer'. The impedance of a subwoofer is never the factor that "burn" it out, its often an improper setup that does that. If you want the figures to match with the AC4000.1D, then you want to consider the Power Acoustik MOFO-124X instead. Two Dual-4ohm subwoofers wired in parallel will give you a 1ohm final load.

Best Answer: Hello Timos,

There isn't a 'Right' answer to your question. Especially true, "quarter of the way" is NOT A PROPER setting.
*The Low Pass Filter [LPF] is the crossover setting that will cutoff/roll-off Frequencies ABOVE where you set it. For example, if you set it at ~120hz, then the amp will only allow the frequencies BELOW 120hz to play through. This is solely YOUR preference, but being a 12" Subwoofer 80hz-120hz is a common setting, however.
*The Subsonic Filter does the Opposite of this. So, if you set it at 40hz, then the amp will only play Frequencies ABOVE that. You often set this to what the enclosure is tuned to, because the enclosure - in theory - will cut off all frequencies Below that tune. ~35hz-40hz is the common setting.

For this example, if we set the amp the way I've explained, the the amp will play a solid range of 40hz-120hz , which is where the Bass is.

Best Answer: Both speakers are great of course the orions are the loudest but in my opinion the Power Acoustik mofos are right up there with them which speaker I would choose I would go based on how much amp power lm using the rms for the Power Acoustik is 1500 watts a peace the rms for Orion 2000 or more Power Acoustik you can't beat the value for the money and like orion thay can take abeating

I have the 2 MOFO 122X what is the best enclosure ?
Rickey B on Jun 24, 2015
Best Answer: I had to build my own out of 1" sub flooring. The four others I tried that were 3/4" blew apart in about 11 days. Had this one four a few months. I glued, screwed, and fiberglassed all the seams and corners probably overkill but was tierd of being somewhere putting down jl audio's and the box blow out. The correct watts and tuning these things are bad ass. Hope this helps

I have a Hifonics BRX 1200.1 mono block amp and a 2.0 cf slot ported box tuned @ 32 htz with a Hifonics OLM 800 D2 I originally wired it to 1olm to get 1200 watts and my sub couldn't handle it. So I wired it to 4 olm @ 450 watts and it sounds much better. But it still doesn't hit hard enough to satisfy my need for really hard hitting bass. Would the dual 2 olm MoFo handle the 1 olm 1200 watts and hit 2 or more times harder than my current sub or should I just go dual 4 olm and get 2 Mofo124's with a dual 12 box?
rokstar on Mar 19, 2015
Best Answer: If you are only running one mofo that is fine and will handle the 1ohm stable if wired parallel but that amp is a lil small the mod I rms watts is 1500 and max is 2700. So it will run 1 mofo 122x but be a lol under powered.

I've got a 2400 watt max Kicker amp and thinking of buying this sub.... is this a good choice or should i look elsewhere?
jake n on Apr 21, 2015
Best Answer: Hello Jake,

We may need to remove your question because it is a bit too vague for us to feel comfortable enough to leave it up. You've only provided a description of your amplifier, instead of a proper Model Number, so all answers you receive will Only be guesses. Kicker often does Not rate their amplifiers with "Max" figures, instead of RMS figures, but there was a time they did. Assuming it Is a "Max" figure, then the amp is likely doing 1200W RMS at its lowest impedance. This is where the problem is, we have no idea what amplifier you are referring to, so we can't guess beyond this. For future inquiries, please make sure to provide a model number, not a description.

I have two of these hooked up to a 6,000 way spl ape class d mono amp at two ohms. Cea tested runs 2500 watts at 2 ohms and 14.4 volts. My box is only 1.85 cu ft and sub recommends 2 cu ft. It's a slot ported box port is only 12 inch by 1.5 inch. Tuned at 37 hrtz. Should I reverse Mount them to maximize box box space. Also have poly fill to trick su s into thinking they are in a bigger box and I still don't think I'm getting the soound I should from these. Or should I just get a bigger box?
A shopper on Feb 28, 2015
Best Answer: Reverse mount to me is silly. Its all about showing your magnet off. So unless you are going for show car applications just match the box size as close as possible. If you are listening to hip hop then your port needs to be perfect. If your listening to dub step or things with lower tones even Metal having nice drum hits. Then ported box wont cut it. You will sound better with a sealed box as long as you have the rihgt RMS going to your sub.... I know i blew this sub with a lanzar amp only giving it 1000 watts rms with a ported box. it did sound alright until it blew. But for the magnet size and weight to me its a underperformed speaker. My MOFO could not handle the ported box for more then a week. its little bit more but Im running an orion H2 12 inch with an older PPI amp at 1 ohms 1200 watts and its like night and day between that set up
