Best sound and is clear at loud levels and does not distort. I would recommend this to anyone.

These are installed in the back of my '09 Mustang in lieu of adding a sub and an amp because I wanted to keep my trunk space this time around. In front are Infinity Kappas to handle the high frequencies.
These JBL's produce lower and better bass than the Kappas as expected and give my system enough oomph to forgo the sub without loosing some punch. They also seem to produce some nicer and louder mids than the Infinities.
Just for reference, they are being powered by a JVC KD-AHD69 head unit. I imagine with a four channel amp they would be able to go to even higher volumes without distortion than with just the head unit.

Get these speakers but don't push them with radio, get a nice 4 channel amp and they will sound much better. I have four of them in my wife's Tribute and she blast the system they sounded good with the Pioneer AVH-P3100 but they sound way better with the Kenwood KAC-6404. Not to mention i got them for a great "MAKE AN OFFER" price.

I installed these in my '93 Explorer (door speakers) They fit nicely, and have impressive bass response and power handling.
However, they seem to have a bit of a response peak in the upper midrange around 3 or 4 khz, resulting in premature listener fatigue at higher volume levels. I realize some of this may be attributed to my car's acoustics, but I expected better from JBL.
