I have (2) dual 4-ohm Kicker CVR 15's wired for a 1-ohm total load. This amp (Rockford Fosgate Punch P1000X1bd) says it's 1-ohm stable. Question, the voice coils are actually 3.7 ohms each, so when wired up I get a 0.9 ohm load. Will that be a problem for this amp?
Ryan K on Sep 19, 2015
Best Answer: Ryan,

You should have no issues because of the tolerances, also there are a few protection circuits built in.

On another note - The amp has been very solid with no issues

Best Answer: depends on your electrical system. the p1000x1bd will require a very upgraded charging system but if set up correctly it will have more sound pressure than the r1200-1d. On the other hand, you can get away will very good pressure and sound with the r1200-1d with just a stock charging system and a cap. The difference in price and free bass knob is why i would choose the r1200-1d. The R1200-1d is no wimp by any means and is a great value for the price

Best Answer: My best guess is it would be it would be underpowered. I have two P3D4s and they sound great. It would be push it, but not to the woofer's full potential

Can I have a sub with lower RMS than what this amp has? Ex the amp has 1000w at 1 ohm but my sub only needs 600w at 1 ohm.
Patrick W on Apr 14, 2015
Best Answer: Hello Patrick,

Can you? Yes. Should you? Probably not.

If you aren't an experienced Car Audio installer/tuner/etc.. then we do not suggest attempting this. For one, the amplifier has the ability to put out Far more than its rated power, which means it will likely do Twice that which your driver is asking for. That may very well blow your subwoofer. The reason being "experienced" is important, is because an experienced enthusiast will know How to properly tune the system to weed out distortion, bad signals, harmful frequencies etc.. and will know exactly how much time will be safe to play the driver at the overpowering levels. Point is, find an amp better suited for your driver.

Can two of these be ran in parallel without having to use an oscope to set gains and crossovers?
