Best Answer: Hello Timos, This subwoofer is a Dual 2 ohm, its important that you address is properly to avoid confusion. It does have the ability to be wired down to 1ohm, but this will NOT 'burn the subwoofer'. The impedance of a subwoofer is never the factor that "burn" it out, its often an improper setup that does that. If you want the figures to match with the AC4000.1D, then you want to consider the Power Acoustik MOFO-124X instead. Two Dual-4ohm subwoofers wired in parallel will give you a 1ohm final load.

Best Answer: Hello Timos,

There isn't a 'Right' answer to your question. Especially true, "quarter of the way" is NOT A PROPER setting.
*The Low Pass Filter [LPF] is the crossover setting that will cutoff/roll-off Frequencies ABOVE where you set it. For example, if you set it at ~120hz, then the amp will only allow the frequencies BELOW 120hz to play through. This is solely YOUR preference, but being a 12" Subwoofer 80hz-120hz is a common setting, however.
*The Subsonic Filter does the Opposite of this. So, if you set it at 40hz, then the amp will only play Frequencies ABOVE that. You often set this to what the enclosure is tuned to, because the enclosure - in theory - will cut off all frequencies Below that tune. ~35hz-40hz is the common setting.

For this example, if we set the amp the way I've explained, the the amp will play a solid range of 40hz-120hz , which is where the Bass is.

would this be a good amp to power an hcca orion 15 wired to one ohm?
Daniel P on Mar 27, 2015
Best Answer: Hi Daniel,

Assuming you are referring to the Orion HCCA154/2 , the AC4000.1D is not the amplifier you want. Needless to say, the HCCA drivers are competition drivers which means they need a Proper source of power to get the performance you are expecting. Entry level products , like that from Planet Audio, just won't get you that, and may very well harm the driver in the long run. You obviously know how to match your figures, so you're on the right track there, but we suggest getting into, at least, a CEA-Compliant amplifier, that is giving you the figures you need.

Best Answer: Hello Timos,

You've already been given the answer to your inquiry, and we confirm that it is accurate;

Best Answer: I have this amp running two Pioneer champion series DVC 2 ohm 10's and it does a very good job. I would say that this amp would do well with the mentioned 12's.

What is the RMS output wattage of two of the AC4000.1D amplifiers strapped playing at 2ohms?
Frank R on Apr 7, 2015
Best Answer: Hello Frank,

In theory, 5600w @ 2ohms . However, being that this amp is not CEA-Compliant, those figures may very well be a bit ambitious.
