It was OK but I wouldn't recommend to anyone who has a factory Bose system in their Car. The presets of the factory amplifier stick because of the built in crossovers. If u do have a factory premium system such as Bose, I'd go ahead and spent the extra money and bypass it with a external amplifier and new component /door speakers as well. I'd just buy the regular harness instead of spending all the money u do buying this one jmo

It's great unless it's defective

January 10, 2014

The unit is large and clumsy. I initially installed it and it didn't work. I checked and rechecked my wiring. The unit wasn't generating a 12v switched signal and the door chimes didn't work. I woke the next day to a dead battery. I decided to run a 12v switched feed from my ignition bypassing the unit. The next day I had another dead battery. The unit was causing a relay to fail and drawing 1.7 amps all the time.

After returning the unit for a replacement I finally got everything working properly but my 3 year old battery wouldn't hold a charge after 2 complete drains. I then had to buy a new battery.

I've had it for about a month now with no issues. The bottom line is if you get a functioning unit you're good to go. The new one works perfectly as it should. If you get a bad one just a remove it and be patient. Trying to work around a faulty unit just isn't going to work out.

October 17, 2012

The product only worked fair for me, the steering wheel buttons don't function the same way as stock. To be fair I was sent the wrong unit to start with so I was a little frustrated having to take the radio out multiple times. I pretty much gave up after trying to program multiple times.

Went through 3 of these before I figured out that my head unit was the problem. After that was fixed I never had an issue again. So this wiring harness does its job just fine!

I had to have this product for my vehicle to make the head unit work. Purchasing it here on Sonicelectronix.com was by far the cheapest anywhere, and I got it to my front door in just a few days. AWESOME!!

Not enough details

January 11, 2015

For all intents and purposes the product works very well. However, the instructions were very vague and might as well not even been included with the package. description of the item also did not mention that it did not control steering wheel functions but did promise to retain all factory functions.

my 2001 Impala has Onstar and an amp but we will not be using Onstar, what do we do?
rusty l on Jan 20, 2015
Best Answer: Hello,

By referring to "an amp" I assume you mean the Amplified GM System [Bose, or Premium Audio, Etc..] . If so, we are obligated to strongly suggest the Axxess GMOS-04 . However, you are free to Request the Scosche GM09SR if you wish. Please place your order Over The Phone to do so.

Do I have to have this to make an after market radio work in my 2006 chevy trailblazer?
A shopper on Nov 9, 2014
Best Answer: You can still install an aftermarket radio .. But if u don't use the aftermarket wiring harness your door chimes abd warning lights / sounds will no longer work ..

Will this keep my steering wheel controls working, or do I need to add the ASWC one also?
A shopper on Dec 8, 2014
Best Answer: Hello,

The GMOS-01 by itself will NOT retain SWC. It has the SWC harness included but NOT the actual MODULE. Therefore, the ASWC-1 is needed; Which does provide you with the module. The GMOS has the harness, in order to ease installation.
