For this price they are a pretty good buy but the rear most passengers in my suburban's third row seating start getting white noise because they are getting too far. I havent bought a different brand to try out but I am almost positive its just a weak reciever in these headphones.
On a positive note, I have had these for almost 2 years and they still work great and are on the original batteries. Used maybe once a month.

I bought 2 of this initially and it was so good I ordered two more 3 months after for use in the other car when the kids are in there.
It is a reliable product and the protective pack for storage while in the car just assures that the kids can't mistakenly break this.
You won't be disappointed if you do buy one.
