Kappa: The Essence of Infinity

This Infinity Kappa 693.9I is the essence and trademark of Infinity car audio. With all the high-end engineering and technology that goes into each Kappa speaker, you will sure that you are receiving only the highest quality components. Made with a woven glass fiber woofer cone, which contributes to low cone flex, low distortion, and enhanced acoustic clarity. Due to the increased power handling of the Kappa series, the Kappa 693.9I feature edge-driven MMD dome tweeters that allow for a seamless sonic integration between the tweeter and the mid-woofer. Using the latest in loudspeaker engineering, each of the crossovers has computer optimized voice-matched outboard passive crossovers for flawless performance.

Unipivot: Staging Made Easy

The Infinity 693.9I features a patented Unipivot tweeter design that ensures proper imaging when the speakers are installed. With the tweeter capable of being moved, it is positional and rotational even after the final screw secures the speaker in the door. Since most speakers are installed low in the door, the Unipivot design brings the soundstage up to the listener for more accurate and enjoyable experience. Each of the Kappa coaxial speakers, such as the Infinity Kappa 693.9I feature adjustable tweeter level control. This switch will adjust the tweeters output by 3 dB. That simple tuning can make all the difference in your system and it ensures that your Kappa speakers will deliver exactly the sound that you are looking for.

True Four Ohm Technology

The engineers at Infinity have developed a speaker that works for all applications. The True Four Ohm Technology used in these speakers make it perfect for running directly of a headunit or with an aftermarket headunit and amplifier. All of the speakers in the Infinity Reference line feature a 2 ohm voice coil. However, when you factor in the small OEM speaker wire of most vehicles and the heating in the voice coil during use, the impedance actually seen by the amplifier will increase. Infinity has adjusted the speaker to be safely connected to any headunit.

The Sound of quality

Sonic Electronix, one of the leaders in car audio, recently visited Harman, the premium global audio and infotainment group, at their research and development locations in Northridge, California and Detroit, Michigan. The purpose of these visits was to utilize and combine the powerful brand of Harman and the industry leading knowledge behind Sonic Electronix to begin working together on developing future car audio projects.

Love them

They are a lot better than I thought it would be putting massive amounts of wattage and they are keeping up so far and they sound great! I might buy another set of them

Kappa 693.9I 6X9 speakers

After reading the reviews, I decided to buy two 6 X 9s for my buick lesabre. I hooked them up to a 450-W amp and was blown away by their power and sustained clearity even at high volume. I do not use them as Boom-Boom. I actually listen to clasical music. These speaker are great. A little pricy, but well worth the investment. As soon as Sonic puts the 6.25 Kappas on sale I will be getting those from the front door panel and power them with a 200-W amp.
Very clear and clean sound from a stock head unit.

Surprised

Purchased these for my wife as I rarely listen to music. I was amazed at the sound quality, I could hear parts on the music I didn't know existed. Am thinking about getting some for my truck now.

They sound great

I have them running off a 800.4 power series amp. Amazing sound. They are really loud and clear. Great mid bass. I would recommend to anyone looking for a great sounding 6x9 that can handle some power. And at the sale price, you can't beat em.

Nice 6x9s

I was looking to upgrade my 94 Camry from factory rear speakers to something nice without breaking the bank. The speakers sound great and have worked well for the past 6 months. They are a bit of a challenge to fit in the 94 Camry rear deck but with some cutting and modifications they now fit.

Great Sound

I replaced the all the speakers in my 84 Camaro and they rock with the Sony CDX-GT700HD head unit I also purchased from Sonic Electonix. Great value and sound!

I can't go back

Single cab dodge with a Hifonics Zeus amp. I'm not even done dampening the doors and the sound is way better than i expected. So clean, crisp, and loud. At first I felt bad about spending so much on speakers until i spent a few hours enjoying them. Now i cannot go back to cheaper speakers. I wish they were cheaper but they are worth the bucks. Install has been challenging due to the huge magnet these have and the low mounting depth in my application. These pretty much require a quality amplifier to get the full experience. If you can afford these speakers and a good amplifier you will be pleased. I would run 4 pair of these for my home theater with some JBL GTI subs if my wife would let me spend the cash.
