These are some VERY clean tweets!! Not harsh at all! For the average system, these will go well with bringing your highs up to par to complete the package. JL always has great stuff. I'm not a fan of their subs, nothing wrong with them, just personal preference. If you want good tweeters. get these. you'll be happy.

Not much to review here since these tweeters were an addition to my current system. I have a set of the C5-650 on the doors of my 2010 Chevy Camaro and I fabricated the door panels to accept the tweeters that came with the C5-650 to fit next to the woofers. I added the C5-075ct to get a little more "high's", so I added the extra tweeters to the original location (door sail panels). While the extra tweeters did add to the overall sound quality, I am still lacking the mid range sound in my system. I will be adding the C5-653 (3-way components) to the rear deck of my Camaro in the near future. The C5-075ct is still worth the cost especially since I got them from Sonicelectronix.com. I have always said, "you can't beat low cost and free shipping" and with Sonic, I also got a bonus BBQ Grill with this order.

These are amazing! They sound great, not "tinny" or harsh whatsoever. I love it. 50 watts RMS, these will sound great. Don't try much more, even though you can. You just don't need it. I'm tired of a few haters out there saying JL sucks. They are awesome for quality and durability. I just hate how JL is expensive, but I still pay because they are dependable and sound great! JL products are SQ-oriented, even subs, but they do put out some SPL, too. Lower your prices, JL Audio, and everyone will buy your stuff!
The bigger profit margin won't be there on items sold, but you will sell waaaaay more. Get down to Rockford Fosgate prices. Their amps are better than JL's in my opinion, but I like JL speakers better. Anyone who wants an awesome system, buy nothing but JL Audio and Rockford Fosgate. Their prices go up, and you wanna stick with mainstream brands, just go with Infinity Kappa. They are pretty good too; I'm just not the biggest fan of their amps.
The speakers and subs are pretty good though. Anyway, JL lower your prices. You're good, but not THAT good. Car audio is just way too much compared to home audio. Messed up, eh? I spent 4,000 on my car audio system. Imagine what home stereo system I could have bought! This is a message to the WHOLE industry! Economy sucks, lower your prices. Not everyone is a rich engineer at your Soundlabs or executives. Think of the little people who actually buy this stuff!

I had auditioned a few less costly tweeters before checking these out based on other's reviews. I agree with their assessments. Cymbals and percussive sounds in general are very real. They add no siblance or harshness, even at volume. It's a handsome if simple looking unit. The two mounting options are good, but the backing clips for flush mount are brittle; don't try to rebend them.
I created my own crossovers using quality air-core inductors and metalized polypropylene caps and these components are much larger than the included crossover which I'm not using as I suspect they house an iron-core inductor and electrolytic capacitor and I can't verify the crossover point or slope, nor did SonicElectronix respond to my inquiry about it. To be fair, they DID respond to two less important questions regarding my order, so I'll give them a C+.
There are no instructions in the box and no online manual is available, but if you look at the online manual that SonicElectronix has provided for the complete JL Audio C5 Component system, there is at least a section about how to assemble them, and yes, the little swivel thing will pop into the cup without breaking and can be removed by carefully pushing from the backside.
If you can get past the documentation shortcoming, at the end of the day, these are good looking, great sounding tweeters!
