This unit is very nice and has a ton of features for the price. The only thing I do not like is that you cannot operate radio or CD while the unit screen is closed. Other than that, this is the best deal online, without a doubt. Clarion head units are so very underrated.

Easy to install and very simple to use. Great picture quality especially for the price! I love this unit. Bluetooth your phone calls, gps to find your way, and it all folds away to keep it out of sight of the thieves.

Purchased this unit several weeks ago. It's a solid unit, but is a little buggy being as its a 2008=2009 model. Couldn't get the Blue Tooth to operate properly with my Droid 2. Wouldn't take Phone Book Data, and would jump back and forth between Stereo & Phone mode. My main reason for returning was the lack of GPS support. Sonic sells the NP 509, but you also need a 100$ adapter to make the unit work with your "Nav Ready" receiver. When you add up what it would cost to get the stereo, gps, and adapter, your over 100$ in price higher than the brand new NZ 500!! I recommend doing diligent research before purchasing this unit!

The Clarion VZ709 is pretty awesome for the price you pay. It has played everything I have thrown at it, without any skips etc, over the past 6 months.
Since this is a great mobile video option, and I wholeheartedly recommend it, I will close with some things I dislike about it.
First, there is no display whatsoever when the screen is down. In all of the mobile DVD units I have owned, there was some display.
Next, to get the DVD to play on the screen while you drive, you need to install a toggle switch. Connect the emer brake wire to ground, then insert the toggle switch somewhere on that wire. Kind of a pain, as all other units I have owned, I just had to connect that wire to ground. Works swimmingly though.
That's it. Everything else about the unit kills. The removable face is the ultimate deterrent to theft. Never buy a mobile DVD head unit without it.
