The Metra CHTO-013 is designed to allow the user to replace the OEM radio with an aftermarket unit in select 2005-2009 Chrysler/Dodge/Jeep vehicles with the amplified sound system and will retain the use of the OEM amplifier. The amplifier receives a digital signal from the radio to turn on and off instead of the normal 12 volt analog signal in previous models. The CHTO-013 sends that digital signal to the amplifier to tell it to turn on and off. The CHTO-013 is packaged with both Chrysler CAN vehicle wiring harnesses to give the CHTO-013 a broader application range. Also the CHTO-013 is up datable by using the USB-CAB, the USB update cable, and the Axxess web site, to help eliminate inventory that is obsolete.
