I got these to replace the factory rear speakers in my 02 Silverado ext cab truck. They are a lot louder and crisper than the factory speakers. I'll admit though, the factory speakers had a little more bass than these, but you don't buy 4x6's for bass anyway. I'm sure the SQ will only improve as they continue to break in. I'm sure it will be an improvement when I get some more power running through them as well. Like some other reviewers have stated, the speaker mounting frames are made of plastic. If you are not careful you can overtighten the mounting screws and break the mounting tabs. If you just take your time and use common sense (and do it by HAND, not a power drill/driver) you'll be OK. Overall another great sounding set of speakers from Polk Audio!
FYI. If you plan on using the included mounting screws, be sure you have a metric allen wrench set handy as they are allen head screws.

These speakers are great, they have crisp clean hi's and the mid-bass has a little punch to it. I can actually feel it in my front doors, and they are installed in my back doors, so quite a punch from such a small speaker. I'm very pleased with the loudness, and quality, I just cant wait to put them on an amp.

I purchased these to replace a set of $60 Pioneer speakers on my rear deck. The difference in sound quality is impressive.
The MMs have a much warmer, and yet clearer sound than the Pioneers. In my opinion they also blow the Polk Db series out of the water. The separate "tweeter/round mid" design, is far superior to the elliptical design. You get what you pay for!
I am using a simple 4*16 Watts RMS Single Din Alpine Head unit to power all my speakers. While an amp would obviously be better, this unit has more than enough power to drive these speakers.
I matched the rear MM461p, with a set of MM5251 components in the front. I just wished I could have fit some MM6501s in the front door panels, to get slightly more front mid-bass, since I don't have a Sub!
The MM series speakers are in my opinion some of the best mid-priced speakers Polk has ever made.
Unlike Infinity or even Mb Quart speakers, all Polk MMs offer a very warm sound (lower frequencies), therefore not having a sub is not the end of the world!
I was so happy with these, that I installed MM6501s (Front) and MM651s (Rear) in my other car!

I bought this to replace the infinity kappa 4x6's I had in my front doors. These sounded a lot alike until the tweeter. This is by far the better tweeter and is much more smooth but it cant be adjusted like the kappas. The problem I have with these speakers is that they are 4x6's. I am not a big fan of them and if I would do it again I would probably go with a high quality 4" speaker.
