I purchased the MX-3 because my HU did not have enough voltage to supply my amplifier. I did have strange noises at first. Thought it was a ground/power problem. After doing upgrades and making sure those were good the problem got worse i thought the unit was defective so i turned it down just a hair and noiced that the strange noises went away. After adjusting and adjusting all the strange noises finally went away and my system sounds great. It gives me great adjustment to diffrent types of music and keeps my tuning tight. This is proabibly the 100th system i have ever installed in my truck and it is definitely the best sounding one. I have had it in there for about a year and not a problem.
If your curious what i have in all heres a list, HU Clarion CZ500, MX-3, Eclipse mono 600w for the subs, jbl 4ch for the highs, Polk audio 8" subs custom enclosure behind rear seat, Mb quart components all the way around.

Love the way you can tune the sound to how you want it but. For some reason I would get random noises that was not on the song when it was hooked up. Not engine noise but almost like it was making its own random low notes.

My amplifier lost its ability to adjust gains and frequency response range. I thought i was going to have to replace a very expensive out of warranty amplifier, but I knew if I turned the outputs all the way up on the radio, I still got some good sound. I just didn't want do drive the radio that hard, so it made me think of this! Perfect solution, the amplifier still works great, and this drives a great, clear and clean signal to my amp.
