Brand New from Pioneer! The Pioneer GEX-P20HD is the newer version of the Pioneer GEX-P10HD and is used to receive FREE digital HD radio. Use this HD radio tuner with your compatible Pioneer car stereo and you are on your way to getting the clearest radio transmission. Features that this tuner enables include iTunes tagging, multicasting, and more. iTunes tagging allows the user to "tag" the song that is playing on the HD radio station and save it on the connected iPod. The next time that iPod is connected to iTunes, that song and it's details will appear in the iTunes store. With iTunes tagging, you will never forget your favorite song on the radio. Multicasting allows stations to broadcast multiple stations on one analog frequency. This means that one radio station can be transmitting several programs at the same time with a digital signal. With this HD tuner, you will be able to listen to those "hidden" stations. Get rid of your traditional radio and upgrade to HD radio!

I was very interested in HD radio because of the hype. Since I live in an HD broadcast market and it's free. I figured I'd give it a shot and add another 100 to by order when I bought the 3300bt. I'm pleased with it's performance. There are some hiccups with HD broadcast and on rare occasion the broadcast cuts out for a second. Noting too disturbing and not often. The sound quality is better than regular Am/fm. It's good to have it if you actually listen to radio. The unit itself was easy to install with the head unit and although you have to find a place for the unit the length of the wires provided aford plenty of mounting options and locations.

Reception leaves something to be desired. I drive around in a sprawling Texas metro area and reception drops out all the time. I thought it might have to do with my power antenna, but reworked the wiring on that and it's still pretty spotty. 2011 model year so I can presumably rule out the car as the problem. Swapping between HD and FM is very noticeable and annoying. I use the radio less since installing this than I did before on 100% FM. Works fine if you find a good reception spot and park the car. Just bad on the move.
Value gets 2 stars. It's expensive for what you get.
Look/Design gets 3 stars. Nothing special on looks, but I believe the design of the device is the problem.
Durability I gave 5 stars. I've had it for about 6 months now and it still works like it did day 1.
Features gets 2 stars because....the one feature it has isn't great.
Ease of Use gets 3 stars. Generic neutral rating there. Plug it inline with the antenna, plug in the IP bus, and wire up power and ground. Standard fare. On my 880prs deck it shows up as external and the faceplate shows HD/FM changes and full preset functionality. It integrates fairly well with the decks it's designed for.
Overall, not worth the money.

Sound quality is great when signal present. Downfall is it totally cuts out when signal becomes weak. Annoying when you are listening to talk radio. Probably an HD signal issue rather than actual product issue.

I bought this for my kids to replace the 3rd portable DVD player, plus to eliminate my CD's from the truck. This item has exceeded my expectations, being able to put all my music on a scan disk is awesome. I would recommend this to anyone looking for an in-dash dvd player.
