The Kenwood Excelon DNX9140 is the flagship model in Kenwoods 2009 lineup of multimedia headunits. This double din video DVD receiver comes with built-in Parrot Bluetooth and advanced Garmin Navigation as well as integrated voice control, double USB inputs and 3.5mm headphone jack input. To control all of these features the DNX9140 has a 6.95” motorized full color LCD touchscreen display with a reverse tilt mechanism that allows the top of the monitor to tilt forward and eliminate glare. It can be dangerous to reach over and fumble with controls while driving so the integrated easy to use voice control system allows the user to speak commands while keeping hands on the wheel and eyes on the road. Even with all of these features and more, the DNX9140 never sacrifices sound quality which is the most important aspect of any audio system. Three sets of 5V preamp outputs (front, rear and subwoofer), plus one mono center channel output allows the addition of amplifiers to create a true 5.1 surround sound listening experience. With one-touch or one-word access to navigation, Bluetooth, and all entertainment options the Kenwood Excelon DNX9140 is the ultimate all-in-one multimedia receiver.

All in all, I think this is a good unit. My one complaint is the amount of time it takes to do anything - there seems to be a fairly significant lag between some operations (for some reason I get it playing MP3 CD's or DVD's)
Other than that, man, the sound it excellent and the features are endless and supported well.

I would highly recommend this unit. I have recently installed this system in my 2007 Dodge Ram 2500 4x4 as I opted to go without the factory navigation system. While the install required a new dash panel found online for about a hundreds bucks, the installation was very straight forward and took me about six hours. Most of the time spent was deciding on the placement of the antennas for gps, xm and the rear camera placement. Sonic Electronics recommended a wire harness adapter that made the connections much easier and everything works great, the parking break sensor is easily run to a vehicle ground and works for watching all video while under way.
Pros:
Voice commands take some getting used to but work well. Garmin navigation is the best. Sound processor allows for selection of individual speaker sizes and sounds great. Two USB connectors allows for thumb drive or external hard drive connection and ipod control. Ipod control is near perfect. Display is great.
Cons:
Boot up takes 30 seconds each time. TV tuner doesn’t appear to be available for this unit yet and it isn’t apparent if HD radio can be used with XM tuner connected? This unit does a lot and getter familiar with all the functions takes sometime.
I’ve been researching these types of systems since I bought my truck, with all the features available and the ability to expand this system along with the Garmin and Parrot built in I think this is the best choice out there.
