Reference Quality Sound from Infinity

Never has getting high-end sound in your car been easier. The Infinity Reference 6030cs car speakers are the perfect solution to aftermarket speakers. With the 2 ohm voice coil, these speakers are ideal for running directly off of a headunit or for use with a aftermarket amplifier. Infinity engineers have combined the Plus One+ cone with the high roll rubber surround to help retain the integrity of the sound. Get more from your audio system with the Infinity Reference 6030cs.

True Four Ohm Technology

The engineers are Infinity have developed a speaker that works for all applications. The True Four Ohm Technology used in these speakers make it perfect for running directly of a headunit or with an aftermarket headunit and amplifier. All of the speakers in the Infinity Reference line feature a 2 ohm voice coil. However, when you factor in the small OEM speaker wire of most vehicles and the heating in the voice coil during use, the impedance actually seen by the amplifier will increase. Infinity has adjusted the speaker to be safely connected to any headunit.

The Sound of quality

Sonic Electronix, one of the leaders in car audio, recently visited Harman, the premium global audio and infotainment group, at their research and development locations in Northridge, California and Detroit, Michigan. The purpose of these visits was to utilize and combine the powerful brand of Harman and the industry leading knowledge behind Sonic Electronix to begin working together on developing future car audio projects.

Speaker Specifications

Series
This is the manufacturer product line of speakers.
Reference (Infinity)
Priced Per
Car Speakers are typically sold in pairs so you will receive 2 speakers for each speaker purchase on speakers marked "Priced Per Pair". If a speaker is marked "Priced Per Each" then the speaker is sold individually and each purchase you make will result in 1 speaker. High-powered tweeters, midrange and full-range pro audio for car speakers are typically sold per each speaker.
Pair
Speaker Size
Refers to the size of the speaker measured in inches. Every vehicle has standard application sizes. Please use our vehicle fitment guide for your vehicle's specific speaker sizes if you do not know them.
6-1/2"
Design
The number of individual drivers in a car speaker. Speakers with 2 drivers are known as a 2-way, and 3 drivers are known as a 3-way. Component systems are often referred to as "separates" because the tweeter is not attached to the midwoofer (main speaker driver) and mounts separately in a location such as a door post. Component systems typically come with an external crossover so you can easily adjust the high and low frequencies sent to both the midwoofer and the tweeter. Center channel speakers are great for those looking to have surround sound in their vehicle.
2-way Component System
Tweeter Design
Designs such as cone, dome, semi-dome, balanced dome, and whizzer are most popular. Cone tweeters are simple, efficient and typically are the most reasonably priced. Dome tweeters are used in most home speakers, and provide a smoother and more accurate sound. Semi-dome design is one with a dome placed inside a cone. A Balanced dome driver is a semi-dome with equal reproduction area given the cone and dome portions of the driver. A whizzer tweeter is a separate tweeter cone driven by the voice coil of the woofer.
Dome
Tweeter Size
Refers to the size of the tweeter. Typically, smaller tweeters produces less output with higher frequency response.
1"
Tweeter Composition
Materials such as polypropylene, silk, cloth, and paper are the most common, where as many more recent tweeters are now manufactured with composites such as Aluminum, Titanium, Mylar, and other materials.

PEI is an acronym for "Polyetherimide" which is an amorphous, amber transparent, high-performance thermoplastic.

Textile
Woofer Composition
Lightweight woofer cone materials are essential for efficient operation. Poly cones produce exceptional sound and are sturdy against various changes in temperature. Paper cones are very efficient, and when treated for moisture resistance, will perform at a high level. Poly refers to polypropylene, which is thermoplastic or fibers that are polymers of propylene. IMPP refers to injection molded polypropylene, a commonly used process and material in speakers.
Injection Molded Polypropylene (IMPP)
Woofer Surround
A speakers surround is part of the suspension system. The surround protects the cone and prevents it from being displaced as it flexes out from the basket. It is usually made of a durable material like treated foam or rubber in order to withstand the strenuous job of producing bass frequencies.
Rubber
Peak Power Handling
Peak power handling refers to the amount of power a speaker can handle during a brief musical burst. The RMS power range figure is a much more reliable rating for determining the speaker's power requirements. The Peak power handling specification is typically rated per speaker unless otherwise noted.
270 watts
RMS Power Handling
The RMS power is the amount of power the speaker requires to operate safely and properly. RMS Power Handling refers to the amount of power a speaker can handle on a continuous basis. We recommend powering your speakers or subwoofer with 80%-120% of its recommended RMS rating. The RMS power handling specification is typically rated per speaker unless otherwise noted.
90 watts
Sensitivity
An efficiency or sensitivity rating tells you how effectively a speaker converts power into sound. The higher the number, the more efficient the speaker and the louder it will play with the same input power. An efficient speaker helps you maximize your available power. Most sensitivity ratings measure the speaker's output with 1 watt of input, 1 meter from the speaker. Some speakers' sensitivity is measured with 2.83 volts of input, instead of 1 watt.

Efficiency (1w/1m) is not an accurate indicator of a subwoofer's output capability and should not be used as a comparison to other speakers or subwoofers to determine which one is "louder".
93 dB
Frequency Response
The range of frequencies the speaker will reproduce (lowest frequency to the highest). Bigger is better, meaning the wider the range, the better. The optimal range is 20 - 20,000 Hz (which is the range of human hearing).
53 - 21,000 Hz
Impedance (Per Voice Coil)
The load value (in ohms) that the speakers present to the amplifier per voice coil - the amount of resistance to the current flow. This is a key specification as subs wired in parallel or low impedances can create problems with your amplifier and potentially void all warranties. We encourage you to ask our support department prior to purchase if you do not understand which impedance level will suit your application best.
2 ohms
Shallow Mount Installation
This means that the subwoofer/speaker is designed to be installed in areas that do not have a lot of space. Shallow mount subwoofers are typically found under a seat or behind the seat in some trucks.

Shallow mount speakers will typically have a mounting depth of 2" or less, while shallow mount subwoofers will typically have a mounting depth of 3" or less.

No
Top-Mount Depth
The depth when installed on top of the mounting surface. Measured from the bottom of the speaker's magnet to the bottom of the mounting holes on the rim of the speaker.
2-1/16""
Cutout Dimensions
Refers to the dimensions of the hole, measured in inches, required to contain the speaker.
5"
Hi-Res Audio Compatible
This feature refers to if the product is capable of Hi-Res Audio (HRA) playback.
Speaker Grilles
A grating or screen of metal or plastic bars or wires, mounted in front of a speaker as protection. If yes, the speakers will include matching speaker grilles. If no, there are no grilles included.
Yes
Number of Speakers
This is the number of speaker that is included in the package. Each purchase will result in receiving the number of speakers indicated here. Please note that some items will have multiple woofers in the same enclosure. For sets of component speakers, this number will refer to the number of sets of speakers (For example, 2 would indicate the purchase includes 2 woofers and 2 tweeters).

Please refer to the product image and description for further details about the speaker.

June 24, 2012

These speakers are in the front of my sedan ran off 150w x2 rms amp.
Matched with 5.25" Infinities in rear, and JBL-MS-12SD4 sub getting 1000w rms. Great budget SQ setup in my opinion.
They absolutely sing, and are the best overall mid-highs I've ever gotten from any of my 4 previous setups.
I don't even want to get out of my car when a good song is on loud!
I'm even hearing musical details I usually don't notice on my ipod or home stereo.
Very sharp crisp sound.
For the $$ I doubt you could find better, clean sounding speakers!
Bass is even pretty punchy and smooth, but you will probably want a sub to compliment these.

These speakers are great because the cost is average and the quality is above average. It reproduces music very well and your amp will push them harder because of the impedance.

Grab a set while you can

August 28, 2014

I'm a serial Infinity speaker installer. Have run Alpine, Kenwood, and a few other brands, but I keep coming back to Infinity for the clarity and overall balance of sound quality and price. I have these run off the head unit for the moment until I can add a four channel amp, and even with 22 watts a channel they are a massive step up from OEM speakers. Lots of different mount options included for the tweeters, but it's on the installer to figure out the best way. I lucked out and these fit directly in the space of my factory tweeters, secured with a dab of hot glue.

Quality!

October 21, 2011

I'm overall very happy with the performance of these speakers.
I installed the 6030cs in my 02 GMC Sierra a couple months ago to replace the stock front speakers. I replaced the 6.5 door woofers, and I installed these tweeters in the mini panels directly behind the mirrors. My head unit (and amp) is a Clarion CZ501. When I was shopping around for this speaker upgrade, my top priority was to get accurate sound reproduction. I can honestly say that the clarity and soundstage from these speakers is beautiful and accurate. The highs are crisp but not harsh. The bass output is punchy, but I wouldn't call it strong. I estimate that the low frequency volume drops off around the 70hz mark, so to get a full sound you'll need a sub. I personally was not expecting to get gobs of low end from these 6.5" speakers, so I don't consider this characteristic a negative.
If you are looking for crisp, accurate sound, then these Infinity's are definitely a good place to start. They are solidly built and fairly easy to install. I subtracted a star from 'Ease of Use' only because it wasn't immediately obvious how to get the crossover unit popped open.

good not great

June 7, 2014

Very good clean sounding speakers. I originally planed to connect them to my factory head but the didn't sound that good. I added a Rockford amp and they sounded great. I thought the had good range and lots of bass for 6.5" speakers. Sometimes they are too bright and for that reason I rated them a little lower. I wish the crossovers had a -3dB setting.

The sound from my aftermarket JVC head unit (50 watts x 4 total output) is very good but these speakers would really benefit from an amp to really get the sound out. The midrange and bass is very good, no distortion, and the tweeters output is adjustable from the crossover unit which is rather large. These speakers fit nicely in my Miata and I highly recommend them for a two way speaker system. The tweeters were very easy to install too. I was not a big fan of the speaker covers, a little too thick for a Miata install, used another speaker cover that was about 1/8" thick.

Great sound for the price

May 20, 2010

I bought these to replace a pair of alpines. I have an extended cab truck with 4x6 alpines in the back doors, an infinity bass link sub under the seat and a clarion deck and separate amp. These speakers had quite a bit more bass than the alpines did. The sound is also better. I really like these speakers and would highly recommend them for the performance at this price.

Great Upgrade

January 24, 2014

I replaced the stock speakers in my GMC 2500 with these and I am very happy with them. They come with a ton of installation options but mine fit the factory position. The x-overs are pretty big but I didn't have an issue stuffing them behind the door panels.

I was worried because some of the reviews indicated that the tweeters were harsh, but I only found this to be true when setting the gains because I was installing a new amp at the same time. Now that they have been in for a couple of weeks I think that they are nicely balanced. The tweeters are installed just above the 6.5 in the door.

The speakers are being powered by an amp - so I don't have any experience running them directly from a deck.

Most underated speakers I've known

June 18, 2014

these speakers are wonderful. If you know how to use your deck and amplifier properly and can tune with clean power, you can't beat these speakers. I have ran them for years and bought a pair for my by newest vehicle. I stand by these fully. better than the kappa's IF you know how to tune and better than a lot of much more expensive speakers. These will easily handle over 100 or more cleans watts of tuned power. Great high end and Mid speaker

Infinity 6030cs are noticably superior to stock Honda Accord speakers

November 28, 2015

I would recommend these speakers over the 2007 Honda 4 door VP stock speakers. The 7,000 series Honda 2 door stick shift models have higher quality speakers than the stock in other models but are still inferior to these Infinity Reference speakers. Most Accords have cute little near 1 inch diameter or half dollar sized magnets.
The 07 VP has no dash tweeters. I currently have the tweeters double stick taped to the sail panel forward of the door glass. Driveaccord.com says it is difficult to rewire the tweeters from the crossover through the door opening to the dash mounting area. The dash tweeter grill has no holes for the sound to come out of. I will have to get a replacement pair.
According to my researching on line, only the Accord two door 6 cylinder with stick shift has a crossover. Both this Accord and all others have a second wire pair from the plug at the radio for the tweeter. It was recommended that the wire from the radio go to the Infinity crossover and the crossover be mounted in/just under the arm rest where there is adequate space in both doors.
The two front door speakers which are currently capable of making more bass than these do not have the necessary Mid-range quality and highs to listen to music satisfactorily.
Wanting a quality sound that is necessary at the mid and high end of the audio spectrum to enjoy music, I switched to Infinity so I can actually hear the instruments instead of just hearing the music. Vast improvement for a lifetime audiophile. (67 years OLD)
I could have gotten the better infinity but for a weekend touring car the higher price for short or occasional long drives is not necessary.
The 6.5 inch Infinity reference 6030cs replacements needed aftermarket plastic pop in mounts that can be purchased from the internet for under $6 dollars with free shipping. They are well worth it compared to drilling and grinding the uneven metal and possibly having a contact with the window glass. I did not see a Sonic version of this pop in speaker holder but I did not look for one there.
Be aware that the aftermarket plastic speaker mount that allow a "two second" pop in convenience does not have the correct placement of screw holes to mount these particular Infinity 6.5 inch speakers to the plastic. Using a determined amount of Southern Engineering I placed screws coated in non stick silicone, in the speaker holes, placed the speakers on the plastic pop in mount and applied a fiberglass goo that hardens relatively quickly. I unscrewed the 4 screws and drilled the holes deeper - then installed the supplied foam stick on pads to place on the speaker for air tightness and screwed the speakers on tighter, then popped them in the door frame. The plastic purchased pop in mount had to be roughed up to allow the fibreglass paste to adhere to it.
The stock head unit amplifier has more than enough power to drive these speakers to louder than I can tolerate without distortion from the speakers or the amp. The sound is clean and clear all the way up to the higher frequencies. The sound does not get to be called SHARP until the treble is turned all the way up, IT is more like too loud for the rest of the music, not sharp. This Honda Accord radio head unit is not exactly aftermarket ultra high power amp quality but it is a close second. I do not have to turn up the treble on this stock radio to hear the high frequencies that are hidden from us by the stock speakers.
The bass is not as loud as the stock speakers but the Infinity speakers are new and will loosen up and make more bass as the hours wear them in. When I crank up the bass on this stock radio I can hear the bass nicely but not loudly. I can feel the door vibrate but not hear metal rattling. I might go back in and use some sound deadener later to cancel out the bass canceling sounds from the back of the speaker. I do not have to crank the bass up to hear it with these mid bass speakers. Also because of the Infinity 6 X 9 9633 cf I mounted in the rear (cf means it does not include a grill). I will have to grind down the stock plastic rear grills to fit these speakers or remount them under the back deck like I had the previous temporary speakers. It fits perfectly in the rear speaker opening. The stock speaker grill will need to be ground down to be remounted in their push in slots. The grills have an oval plastic ridge to go down to the metal for a better bass on the OEM Honda 6 X 9 speakers. These Infinity 9633cf speakers have a quarter inch plastic ridge on the top and have to be compensated for.
I am currently enjoying the resounding bass these rear infinity reference 9633cf speakers provide along with the absolutely clear sound they make up to the upper end of the audio range.
I purchased this pair of 6 X 9 9633cf Infinity reference speakers for the back shelf because the Sonic tech ref said they will make bass loud enough with the stock head unit and they are the best bang for the buck for my driving. The holes are there in the back shelf under the pop out speaker grills (you have to grab the 4 pop in tabs in the trunk with needle nose pliers to squeeze the plastic to get it to pop out). The Honda speaker wires are there tucked into the assembly within a few inches of the holes.
A Honda to Infinity speaker wire conversion plug will have to be purchased or special terminals can be purchased at Radio shack to connect to the speakers. Radio Shack sells pn 6403058 which has the two 7/64th female spade push on for the negative speaker terminal and two 3/16 female spade push on terminals for the positive speaker terminal.
Spade terminals will have to be ground down to about 1/3rd the width to plug into the Honda speaker cable socket. This is necessary for both the 9633cf and the 6030cf, 4 of these speaker wire connectors need to be made BUT the time to make them plus the costs of the male and female spade terminals would far offset the lesser cost of purchasing the pre-made units that can be found on line. It cost about $2.50 for a pair of correct sized female spade terminals ($10.00 for 4 pair for all 4 speakers). The Male spade terminals also have to be purchased, and then the males have to be ground to about 1/3rd the width to fit the Honda plug. Then the terminals have to be "SOLDERED-not Crimped" to the wires. Crimping is for a temporary fit because one of the crimps will surely pull off the wire and give you grief sooner or later. It is a great deal less time and grief to purchase these Honda to Infinity conversions. I found out the cable to speaker conversion cables are available after I had made the 4 conversion cables. I did not think to ask the tech or look for them at Sonic but they can be found on the internet.
Everything re-considered, I think if I had purchased the cable converters, the front speaker pop in mounts and made the modifications for the screw holes before hand, I could have mounted all 4 speakers in less than two hours.

Honda has premium sound radios that put out 120 watts RMS that should make you deaf soon. This VP has no specified power rating but it has enough RMS wattage to HURT -- it gets so loud. The Two Ohm rating of the Infinity, has something to do with the loud volume available along with the 93 dB sensitivity rating to make these speakers louder than the stock or other speakers I tried.

These infinity have 2 ohm impedance's. From the small diameter Honda wiring the speaker will probably see 2 Ohms at low and normal volume and not overheat the stock radio amp. They advertise that at higher volumes with the small speaker wire sizes and the bass turned up that the amp sees a 3 to 4 ohm load when the volume is cranked up.
I have read that more powerful aftermarket amps make loud bass and resoundingly better sounding music in other cars with lesser radios, but this "made for Granny / Grandpaw car" has more wattage than I can bear.

Put these in my 09 impreza. The sound is good. It's not audiophile level but it's very good. Don't expect a ton of bass from the 6.5" drivers, they don't do well below 100 htz. If you have a sub and can eq out anything below 100 htz to the door speakers they sound brilliant. My biggest complaint is there is no good way to mount the crossovers. There are screw holes on the bottoms but no way to open them up to mount them. I used 2 sides tape on them inside my door panels but it only lasted maybe 2 days of opening and closing before the tape failed. The tweeters sound great but the +3 db option is not needed. All in all a very good component setup for around $100

So do these speakers take [email protected],or [email protected]?
Or is it the same for both?,thanks.
Simpson29 on Nov 20, 2014
Best Answer: The power rating doesn't have anything to do with the ohm load. It is what the speaker will take, no matter the ohm load. The ohm load does affect the power output of the amp. Amps will usually supply more power at a lower ohm load. Be careful with how low you make the load on the amp. Most amps will handle a 2 ohm load, and some high-end amps will run at even lower ohm loads.

For the Reference 6030cs, the recommended power range is 10-150W. Does this mean that running them off of the factory amp and HU in my 07 TL, they will experience minimum distortion compared to other speaker choices? I am not looking to upgrade my amplifier right now and want to run these at 2Ohms.
Chris B on Dec 7, 2015
Best Answer: These are very efficient speakers so they should play fine with the factory amp, depending on the power rating of the amp, the music you listen to, and how loud you play your music. If you find that the sound is a bit thin or distortion sets in early, then you will need to upgrade to a more powerful amp. I would recommend at least 75 watts per channel from a good amp like Rockford Fosgate. If you also want better low-end sound, you could get a 5-channel amp and upgrade the factory subwoofer. The clean high-power will really open up the sound. More speakers are blown from not enough power (the clipping of the amp quickly destroys the speaker) than from too much power (the continuous power required to reproduce the music is lower than the power peaks encountered so the amp is actually running at less than full output most of the time, unless your gains are set too high).

Is this speaker a replacement for the part number Z6038593AI which was the original equipment speaker?
Joyce W on Jan 3, 2015
Best Answer: Well, Google says that part number is for a speaker from a Jeep Liberty. If you have a Jeep Liberty, then no these are not OEM speakers.
If your Jeep Liberty has the OEM stereo, just save yourself the headache and get the stereo and the speakers replaced now. If you already have an aftermarket stereo installed (which is why your stock speakers are now making that horrid noise), then these speakers will fit your vehicle. You will need an adapter kit to fit the speakers in the doors, and you'll need to figure out a way of fitting the tweeters. The stock tweeters I think are 3" and the infinity ones are only 1". If you can't find an adapter for those, you can probably get away with sticky backed velcro to hold them in place.
If you're running just an aftermarket stereo( usually around 15-40 watts per channel) with no additional amplifiers, I would suggest using the Rockford Fosgate R152-S component set, with the Rockford Fosgate Prime R1525X2 in the rear doors. These speakers are designed to run on lower power and will give a richer sound than if you ran a higher rated speakers with no amps. If you're adding amplifiers then go with the Infinity 6030CS.

Do the tweeters in this set have a threaded hole in the back to mount them to a bracket?
Mike M on Dec 26, 2015
Best Answer: They do not. There is a press fit between the actual tweeter and the mounting. I used the adjustable recessed mount, working great, and I jam out at very loud volumes. One thing everyone says it they are impressed with how clean everything sounds. Highly recommend.

I need to know the best amp to get for these infinity kappa 60.11cs speakers? I'm going to be installing these inside of a truck with no addition speakers or subwoofers. It says 90 watts rms at 2 ohms. I found an amp that is a 2-channel 150 watts rms per channel. If I'm correct they say to power your speakers/subs at 75% - 150% of your rms rating. This is slightly a little over 150%. What I was wondering is I've heard that it's best to over power your speakers/subs than to underpower them. So, my only concern is later down the road is them blowing. The problem is I can't find a 2 channel amp that will put out the exact right rms. how much rms is perfect for not underpowering and not overpowering? Thanks, EP.

Best Answer: -I need to know the best amp to get for these infinity kappa 60.11cs speakers?
-> The "best amp" - we would argue - would probably be the JL Audio XD200/2v2 .

-What I was wondering is I've heard that it's best to over power your speakers/subs than to underpower them.
-> This is something in the industry that we tell 'newbies', to save them from themselves. Often times a person new to Car Audio will crank up their systems to the extremes, thereby CLIPPING the setup and destroying everything. CLIPPING is the real issue, not power. To hit the point home: If "underpowering" was really so "bad", then we would be blowing up speakers/subs left and right every time we put the volume down; you are NOT getting 100% of your power at Volume 1 or 2 or 3 or 4 or 5 etc... So, if "underpowering" is so bad, why does nothing happen when you turn down your tunes? Moreover, the 6030cs have a Recommended Power Range of 10 - 150 watts RMS per channel, so you shouldn't handcuff yourself to looking for a specific amplifier that has the POTENTIAL of putting out XX RMS. Instead, find something that works for YOU; budget wise, dimensions wise, performance..etc... Below are a few more "best amp" options to consider:

Best Answer: The Matrix uses 6.5" in both the front and rear. If you have the six speaker option, there are 1" tweeters in the pillars.
