Works well both in the US and in Europe. Only draw back is that points of interest (gas, banks, etc.) are not preloaded in the normal view so if you need to get to a gas station, you need to change the view in the GPS in order to find the closest one.

Pros:If you don't own a GPS and will be traveling to Europe this is the best deal. You get the European continent and North America maps for one low price. If purchased separately the European maps could add $100 or more normally.
Con: You can't delete 'recently found' address. You must delete all locations. This tends to clutter your Garmin. Another quirk is the 'time to reach destination' does not seem to be accurate. It shows time to your next change in road.

I bought this GPS to use in Germany this fall. It worked very well. We spent most of our time in the state of Bavaria and even the small farm roads were included. It also works here at home in Arizona

I used my Garmin 275T twice in Europe in 2009 and found it to be very easy to use. I drove in and around Cologne (a nightmare of a place to drive) and to the racetracks at Spa Franchorchamps and Nurburgring with very little in the way of problems. It did on one occasion direct me out of the way to a suburb of Cologne when I wanted to go to a restaurant in the downtown historic center. But when I was leaving the Grand Prix at Spa, the police directed me deep into the countryside. I had no idea where I was and I would have been totally lost without the GPS. Also it is not very easy to orient yourself in the pedestrian mode, but once you've got your bearings, it works very well. I would highly recommend this product.

We purchased this model because it had European maps on it and we were traveling to Germany. This system performed above my wildest expectations . . . giving us directions to some of the most hard to find places with pinpoint accuracy. Great unit and great value. Would highly recommend to anyone.
