The amp I have was manufactured in January of 2010. The certificate of birth rates actual power at 294 watts; 96w x 2 RMS at 4ohms at 1% THD. This amp is a good value. It looks nice and clean, has indicator led lights, and hidden mounting screws. I'm using this amp to power my 6.5 component speakers on my rear channel. I'm using the XTR 5004 for the front channel. The sound is clean and static free. No complaints. Good for powering mids/highs or 6x9's. This amp will get very hot when played loud for a while, but has never gone off on thermal, even in Arizona in the 115 degree heat. The subsonic filter helps your mids live longer. This amp does not have bass boost, so you'll need a larger amp for your subs.

I've been a Orion fan for over 20 years and the quality has not gone away, this amp is more than enough power for any single sub set, I got it running 1 xtr 15 and it hurts even just at half gain, the only flaw with the amp is there are no plate fasteners at the end of the screws for all the terminals, I put my own in as a work around but this should definitely be taken care of with any future amps, if the amp moves around at all any cable can fall out so be careful, other than that this amp will do the job.

The terminal lugs won't hold on to a piece of copper at all; Kicker 4 gauge. I tried to tighten it down normal; then with some extra copper removed. Nope, Orion decided it would be a good idea to have the screw/nut come down at a 35° so it lightly compresses the wire. That's not the worst though; the screw come down (amp side I=I---//-- not scale) so the lightest tug on the wire it comes out...
