Don't sleep on the L12. This sub hits hard! I have 3 of them mounted in a ported enclosure, driven by a Power Acoustik CPT1-5500D. Both, the voice coils and drivers are wired in parallel for a 0.67 Ohm load. Surprisingly, the amp is stable. Wow! I can't begin to tell you how amazing they sound. I expected great quality, but these subs have blown me away. Literally! The lows that this sub can handle is astounding. With a vented box, the bass ridiculous! For those of you who want to save some money, but still get the same quality sound as the more popular names (Orion, Kicker, JL, etc.), become an Outcast. I'll put the L12 up against any sub of similar specs and match or exceed it's performance. Hands down. BTW, for anyone interested, excursion on the sub is amazing as well...just in case someone wants to record a "Bass, I Love You" video. Side note:
This is definitely not a starter sub, by any stretch of the imagination. A starter sub made by Boss Audio would be the older, red coned, CHAOS Edition, e.g CH123DVC or CHAOS Special Edition SE12D. The Outlaw plays with the big boys!

I have two of these subs in my car and the bass is so deep and im use a 3500 watt outcast amp to power them. I had a little trouble ounting the sub in the super bass speaker box and i fix that by making the speaker whole bigger but worth the trouble. For the price there great i was thinking about using four of theses 12 in my truck and i cant wait.

I have to say that I am a Boss Audio Fan. For the money, you just cant beat 'em. I have one of these subs in a sealed box built to spec 1.9ft2, and it sounds GREAT! It has great lows and a powerful sound, hits as hard as two 12's! This thing needs some power, I would recommend at least 600 watts RMS per sub. I would say that I had trouble finding a box for it, had to have one built. Boss delivers at low prices, I am consistently impressed by the quality of audio equipment they sell for 1/2 to 1/3 as much cost as mainstream brands. I recommend them any day!
