I would not recommend this unit for several reasons:
1. AM reception is very weak.
2. The microphone that comes with it for use with a cell phone is really bad.
3. The face plate is horrible and does not encourage intuitive navigation.
4. Processor does not allow alpha-numeric sorting of audio folders and files and often capriciously changes play sequence. This is very bad for audio books.

Bought a DEH-P710BT three months ago. What an awesome unit but I paid $275 for that unit. Then I found a red lighted unit DEH-6200BT and traded my blue lighted 710BT for it. Sound quality is exactly the same, excellent. There are not as many functions or features on this 6200BT unit but the ease of use, sound quality, and low price make this unit a real winner. Pioneer has yet again hit the mark and beyond with there receivers. Don't hesitate on buying this brand unit, just be sure you pick the model with the features you crave as they have dozens of new models at all price ranges. P.S. Pioneer has a new updated wiring plug so if trading up from a model a year old you'll have to re-do your wiring. Caught me by surprise as I've used the same plug through a half dozen pioneer receivers.

I had a huge conflict choosing a single DIN head-unit for a long while, it was a dispute Between sony , JVC and Pioneer. While sony offered a bit more of power into the speakers (17w vs. 14w at >1% THD) I've chosen this one for it's color scheme and it's screen, since both played iPod, and had built-in Bluetooth so they were more or less a fair competence, this one went better with the OEM interior ligthing of my car. While JVC offered a lot more of power than this h/u, I opted for this one since it looked a lot less "attractive to thieves" than the JVC, I'm not saying this unit is ugly, I'm just saying it looks less "potentially steal-able" than this other JVC as it matched better the OEM color of my car. The bass on this thing is simply perfect, it made my car from sounding really choppy, to a full hi-fi experience, using Kicker speakers, It's sound is really better compared to the OEM system. I will recommend this Unit to anyone who asks me for help choosing a system, It's relatively cheap, It sounds nice, has plenty of features. This HU defines "Bang for the buck" seriously!

This is my second pioneer deck and i love it even more than my first one. Easy to use and the bluetooth and ipod features are very nice. The deck lets u choose songs directly off the ipod instead of selecting them using the stereo controls which is also very nice. My shift knob gets in the way of the volume a bit but other than that i was extremely satisfied when i installed this deck.

Love the site. Categories are well broken down to detail for exact applications. Couldn't be done any better. Excellent and fast service. Can't wait to get my HU installed. Thanks for the deal.
