Performance meets Value
The new 2010 Hifonics Brutus amplifiers are much more than a good-looking amplifier. Underneath the solid aluminum casing, you will find quality amplifier components that are sure to satisfy any compatible subwoofer. The new BRZ amplifiers have changed the heat sinks on each side to vertical aluminum fins. Since heat rises, these fins draw the heat up and allow it so effectively dissipate from the amplifier. The vertical aluminum heat sinks are located on two sides of the amplifier and effectively maintain the temperature of the amplifier to prevent any overheating. Combined with the other power/protection indicators and the 4-way system protection circuitry, the Hifonics Brutus amplifiers prove to be a safe, efficient, and reliable amplifier for your subwoofer.
Every Brutus amplifier is CEA-2006 certified. That means you can be confident in knowing that you are paying for real power. The wattage that the amplifier is rated at is the wattage that it will consistently produce and supply your subwoofer with. This is typically a feature just found on the higher-end, expensive amplifiers, however all the Brutus series amps are CEA-2006 compliant with a low price tag. By choosing one of these amplifiers, you will be high-grade performance and still have money left over. Performance meets value with the Hifonics Brutus amplifiers!

I've had this amp for about a week and so far I absolutely love it.
For the price, I feel that this is a really good deal. I was looking for 800wrms @ 4 ohms, and this is what I found. It sucks every amp of current from my stock alternator, I need to upgrade that... but for now, it pushes 1 10" sub pretty hard (and then the lights start to dim at about 80% volume) so there's not a whole lot of sustaining power for the deep bass notes, but that's not Brutus's fault now is it?
I like the features (high and low crossovers, bass eq, bass boost @ 45hz, etc.) and I like the overall appearance of the amplifier. Somewhere I read that these amps appear to be cheaply made. If I was really anal and went over this thing with a fine toothed comb, I might say that the adjustment knobs have a lot of play to them and the plastic parts feel cheap, but everything works properly and I personally have no complaints.
I like the 0 gauge power ground inputs as well as the speaker outputs, all of which are female type terminals. Personally, I love it when I can stuff a wire in a hole and screw it down nice and tight, there are no ifs, ands, or buts about it; that wire isn't going ANYWHERE.
Overall, this is a great product.

I bought this amp about 6 months ago and its does it duty. I was pleasantly surprised! 1st I put it on 2 Cerwin Vega VMax 15 dual 4 & they lasted maybe a good 5 days @ 1ohm. Next I placed it on 2 Fosgate P2 and in a custom slot ported box. They wang something terrible! I recently bought 2 Brz 2400 & 4 Cerwin Vegas Strokers for my Tahoe. I have yet to install them but from that point forward I'm a Hifonics guy..Great sound, Great Cost, Great Quality.

I must say for the price i highly recommend this amp to anyone who requires power. I had a fosgate 1000 watt power series amp hooked up at 1 ohm to my Pioneer 12's that required 2000 watts rms and my amp would shut down from time to time but this hifonics amp doesn't shut down at all. Highly recommend for Sonix price cuz i payed $500 for only 1000 watts for my fosgate and i only payed a lil over $300 for this 2000 watt beast. Am highly satisfied with this amp thanks alot Sonic.

I have 2 of these running one coil each on a new Digital Designs 3512sc.
The coil is a D1. The amps run cool and seem to be very efficient.
I did a clamp test with a 45hz tone and with a box rise of about 2.2ohms, I was getting a tad over 1450 watts per amp. (amp is rated at 1400@ 2 ohms)
I have had the amps for a few months now and have given them a few hard, extended runs with out issues.
IMO, a very nice bang for the $$$ spent.
The only thing that I do not like are the rather sharp edges on the cooling fins. Also, where Hifonics puts the tamper stickers on the backs of the amps, they are prone to tearing along the amp seam from mounting.
