There is not a specific firmware package for the NX700 model radio for the XM adapter. I have had the radio installed for about 6 months and they still have not updated the firmware loader software. So I have a paid XM account that I cannot use. Also the bluetooth stopped finding devices, I've tried with several different phones. Other than these two major issues, my only other complaint is that for a $1000 machine, the look of the menus are very plain, and one would expect to have some sort of animations when not interfaceing with the device.

The NX 700 works as advertised. The 3D terrain does not have enough resolution to impress, but the elevated bridges makes it easy to tell which on/off ramp to take etc. Lane guidance is neat, but voice guidance will not speak when the interstate splits and you need to be in a certain lane. The lane guidance visuals apparently cannot be turned off or set to Top or Bottom in 3D mode, and blocks the forward view in auto-zoom 3D mode. So I must select a static broad view.
Menus are intuitive, easy and snappy. Audio sounds great, lots of options, plays everything quickly and clean.
I was going to buy the AVN726E, but when the market for that unit dried up, this is the closest comparable unit I could find for a lower price than going all-Alpine.
Using the iPod cable from AVN726E did not work with the NX 700... although the cable looks exactly the same.
