PPI still has it
One great sounding little midrange amplifier. Powering a pair of kappa 6.5s and a pair of orion 6.5s. It is nice to have an amp with a little headroom. Only set at about 65 percent so I am not pushing it too hard. It was priced right so I could offord a warranty. So far I do not have anything negative except it has a large footprint but I knew that when I bought it so I'm not taking any stars from my rating. I understand Ppi is no longer made in the us but if you ask me precision power still offers plenty of bump for the buck.

Not really tech savvy, but I thought the price was cheap for a good name brand. Amp'd to my 5-way Kenwood 6x9 and 12' Alpine Type R. Amp is at about 60% and really provides a deep resonating bass while still giving out good clarity.

I purchased this amp for my mid/high drivers only. Driving it with >250Hz into 4 mid/tweet sets, it seemed to provide a good, clean sound. Unfortunately, it ran so hot it couldn't even be touched. It faulted the heat protection circuit once shortly after I installed it, coming back on after power cycling it. But 2 months later, it switched off again while under load and faulted the Protect circuit, never to power on again. Had to return it to Sonic' for warranty replacement. Should be receiving a new replacement in the next couple of days, but I have serious doubts that it's going to work out in the long run, due specifically to the heat issue.
I've worked with a lot of AF amplifier equipment over the years and have never encountered this kind of heat generation from an amp being driven/ and loaded like this. In my opinion, PPI needs to put a LOT more emphasis on HEAT DISSIPATION and a lot less on looks/style. I don't care what the damn amp looks like when I pull it out of the box; Once it's installed, it's out of view. And to be absolutely certain, NOBODY is going to be using a Sedona series PPI amp for competition purposes, so the cosmetic appearance of the amp is hardly relevant.
PPI can say what it wants about heat dissipation and the conspicuous lack of heat sink fins on it's products, but as far as I'm concerned they are completely F.O.S in that regard and are simply covering for their lack of attention to practical usability and overemphasis on looks.
PUT THE COOLING FINS BACK ON YOUR OVERHEATING AMPS, PPI!!! I"M NOT IMPRESSED AT ALL!
I also have a PC650.2 driving two dual voice coil Fosgate P2 Series 12" woofers, AT 4 OHMS MIND YOU, and the thing overheats and switches off constantly. THERE ARE ZERO COOLING FINS ON THAT AMP.
Interestingly enough, I am heavily overdriving an old PPI 2030M (circa 1988) with a very high voltage
