New and Improved Alpine Type-R:
This fourth-generation Type-R subwoofer features the cleanest sound with the most efficient force control. With updated assembly, this subwoofer is able to withstand higher temperatures more efficiently without distortion. This new structure greatly improves installation options by allowing a shallower mounting depth. Delivering the best bass output, the Alpine SWR-1223D has been redesigned to enhance audio playback and become your ideal sound system. Type-R's new depth design offers a 20% reduction while adding the new and improved magnet structure. With this updated double-stacked strontium magnet, this product gains over 20% more motor force to provide a louder, cleaner bass. The optimized CRC machined motor creates an even magnetic field to provide the user with less distortion and overall improves the subwoofers power handling. This subwoofer features a High-Amplitude Multi Roll (HAMR) to provide excellent excursion with overall better output. Having a new and improved airflow management system controlling the temperature of the voice coils, the air is redirected across the heatsink to avoid overheating. With heavy playing time, this heatsink feature minimizes the amount of compression to reduce any heat damage to the voice coils giving you a long-lasting subwoofer.

I have had 1 in my truck for 2 weeks now, after my Kicker Comp VR finally blew. No dig on Kicker, cause that bad boy lasted me a hellish 8 years. This sub just gets better and better! I'm slowly moving the settings up, just out of my own choice, but man, WOW. I cannot wait to really pound on this thing! I have it in a Supercab F150, in a 1.27 cu.in. ported box. It's really impressive what 1 sub can sound like!

Great sub, have it hooked up to a PDX-M6 (600watts) and this thing pounds hard. It's great in the ported box that I made for it, definitely go for a larger sized PORTED box. I just got my second one yesterday with a brz2100.1D (2ohms@1400) cant wait to install.
