Rich, Vibrant Color Processing

The Mitsubishi LT-55154 uses a patented 6 color processor to process the bright and vibrant colors that the panel is able to produce. The difference is not only colors that are more true-to-life, but also allows the user to have full customization control over the color adjustments. By separating the Red, Green, Blue, Cyan, Magenta, and Yellow, the color engine is able to more accurately reproduce each of the colors. Combine this color processor with Deep Color and x.v.Color, and the panel steps up to a whole know level of color depth!

Surround Sound without Hassle

Getting a full 5.1 Dolby surround sound system has never been faster or easier. With the integrated Unisen immersive sound technology, full surround sound results are created with the 12 speakers along the panel below the display. With a total of 24 watts, each speaker plays an important role in directing the sound around the room to produce time accurate surround sound. Within the settings of the Mitsubishi LT-55154, the speaker adjustments will allow directional settings for each channel to be changed. By using the acoustics of your room, the 12 speaker immersive sound system will accurately produce surround sound. Connect a subwoofer to the sub output from the TV and true 5.1 Dolby sound will be heard! This makes the TV ideal for apartments and other areas where there isn't room for large bulky speakers. No need for expensive receivers and speakers when the Mitsubishi LT-55154 already produces surround sound!

Television Type

The type of technology used to produce the screen images. LCD, DLP, Plasma, LCoS, and CRT are the most common. 2 newer technologies include LED and OLED which use light-emitting diodes (LEDs) as a backlight, as opposed to conventional LCD TVs, which use cold-cathode fluorescent lamps (CCFL) for a backlight.

LED technology integrates LCD display technology with LED backlighting. On LED television, both LCD and LED will be selected here.

3D Ready
This means that the television is compatible with 3D images. Some televisions will require special glasses to view the 3D images, while other TVs can display the image without the necessity of glasses.
Screen Size
The screen size dimension is measured diagonally in inches.
Aspect Ratio
The standard ratio of 4:3 (width:height) is one that most are familiar with; however, today we're seeing more models with widescreen 16:9 aspect ratios, which closely matches the most common movie theater screen ratio and HDTV broadcasts too.

Selectable aspect ratio means that the user has the option to choose which aspect ratio they would like. This feature is usually found on televisions.

Selectable Aspect Modes
This is the number of aspect ratio modes that the television or display is capable of. Having multiple options here allow the viewer to choose the best aspect ratio for them.
Resolution (pixels)
A display's pixel resolution defines its ability to resolve fine details. Digital TVs and projectors measure screen resolution in pixels. The higher the resolution, the more detailed the picture will be.
1920 x 1080
Refresh Rate

120 Hz

THX Certified
THX is a high-fidelity, high-quality, sound reproduction standard. Its superior audio quality is reserved for only the best. In order for a unit or product to be THX certified, strict qualifications must be met to insure the highest quality. If the unit is THX certified, you are sure to be impressed.
Video Broadcast System
Most cameras and displays will be compatible with a NTSC video broadcast system. Others will be compatible with a PAL system. Many units will be compatible with both.
ATSC Compatible
ATSC is the new high definition format that will become the standard in 2009. It will be replacing the former NTSC television system.
HDTV Compatibility

Display Format
High-definition televisions will display the image at 1080i, 1080p, or 720p. To be considered full HD, a television must display at 1080p.

Standard televisions will display the images at 480i or 480p. This means that there are 480 horizontal lines that create the picture.

CableCARD Compatible
CableCARD is a wireless card that allows the viewing of digital cable television channels on digital video recorders, personal computers and televisions. They do not require the use of equipment provided by a cable television company.
Comb Filter
A comb filter prevents line bleeding (dot crawl) in televisions. It does this by filtering the input signal and making sure that the colors appear only where they are supposed to be.

Number of Subs/Speakers
This value represents the number of speakers or subwoofers that the enclosure accommodates.
Total Peak Power Output
The total peak power output is measured as the wattage per channel multiplied by the number of channels, and is calculated at the lowest level of operating impedance.

It is measured during a brief musical burst, such as a sudden drum accent. Some manufacturers display peak power ratings on the face of their products to increase the appeal.

The RMS power rating is more accurate, and we recommend using it for product comparison.

24 watts
Premium Surround Speakers
This means that the television has high quality speakers built-in that provide a surround sound feel. While this feature does not replace a 5.1 or 7.1 Dolby surround sound system, it does have a notable difference above the standard television speakers.
